Georgia lefty commits to USC for 2015

LHP Kyle Anderson of Evans, GA has committed to USC according to John Whittle of TheBigSpur.com. Anderson picked the Gamecocks over Georgia and Georgia Tech. He and his twin brother Matt are considered two of the top prospects in Georgia for their class. Matt Anderson remains undecided. Kyle Anderson is the fifth commitment for USC's 2015 class.

^You mean 2013. This is shaping up to be a very good class. We will lose Cuiffo at C but it looks like we will keep Logan Koch at the same position and he's almost on the level of Cuiffo.

I was excited to finally have the chance to watch Taylor Widener play at South Aiken the other night, but he was intentionally walked three times so I didn't really get to see him hit. He came in to pitch the 7th inning and was throwing in the low 90's.

Sidenote: He'll be playing at Lexington today in the AAAA Lower State finals.

Future gamecocks Nick Ciuffo(hopefully) and Josh Reagan both had good nights as Lexington took game 1 of the 4A state finals against Blythewood. Reagan pitched a complete game allowing only 4 hits and 1 ER. Ciuffo had an RBI single and a walk. Both these guys have been carrying Lexington through the playoffs. Reagan has pitched two complete games allowing 1 ER in each and Ciuffo has been knocking in a lot of the runs for the wildcats. Look forward to seeing these guys in the garnet and black, we may still have a shot at Ciuffo. These guys are winners.
