The offer was extended with Lawing as the DL coach not with Deke. What Lawing and Deke are probably not going to have identical recruiting and coaching styles.

I don't think he we will get Newell either, but he did call us saying he was interested and he likes us. However, I get the feeling that he contacted us just because he is proactive in going out and getting offers.

Or it could be that it is hard to convince a kid from Kansas to come to school in South Carolina. Sure he enjoyed his visit but Kansas to SC is a long way

People give our staff a lot of flack for terrible reasons.

Our previous DL coach offered him, our new DL coach is going to make his own offers.

Maybe this bites us in the ass down the road, maybe it doesn't - only time will tell.

Top tier programs sometimes have to turn down good prospects. Unfortunately, we are tight on numbers this year and in the mix for a lot of elite talent. We can't sign them all, we simply have to trust the staff's judgement and understand they have a better grasp on the situation than keyboard recruitniks.

Well it's not really a miss on his part. The kid is ready to be a Gamecock but Deke wants to meet him and see him in person. Pringle could still be a Gamecock after Deke meets him. Most thought we would accept his commit - which is still a possibility - so I wouldn't beat up on him to much.

I honestly think the coaching staff should just go ahead and accept his pledge.

He's close to a UNC offer but with all the troubles over there, he doesn't wanna get into that mess. He really wants a UGA offer

Sigh, any other year he is an instant take.. very frustrating to turn away great local talent

I could see him going to UGay or Clemmy and making us regret not taking his commit..

..unless we end up with Ford, Wideman, AND one of the OOS studs (Hand/Carter/Moten/etc)

If we don't land one of those OOS studs, than we screwed up here (and if we miss on either Ford or Wideman, huge mistake here)

So you guys can see him going to 1 of 2 schools where the first one (Clemson) wouldn't take a commitment from him right now and hasn't communicated with him very much or the other (UGA) hasn't offered and he is way down on their board of players as well as them having limited spots this year because of the size of the class they had for 2013.

Why don't we let our new defensive line coach evaluate the kid before everyone demands we take a commitment from him.
