The massive 6-feet-6, 275-pound offensive tackle is currently ranked No. 100 overall in the 247Composite. Spain has an ideal tackle frame, but is coming off a leg injury that caused him to miss almost the entire 2012 season. At this point, he is believed to be a South Carolina lean.

After missing most of his junior season with a knee injury, the 6-feet-6, 293-pound Spain is back and looks better than ever. Physically, he has added good weight and appears to be pretty lean. In position drills, Spain was quick and smooth. During one-on-ones, the No 100 overall prospect and No. 9 tackle in the 247Composite displayed excellent footwork, a beautiful kick step and very good strength to dominate the competition.

Top247 offensive tackle Bentley Spain of Charlotte (N.C.) Providence, one of the most heavily recruited players in the Carolinas, had an outstanding day, easily winning all of his one-on-one reps in pretty dominant fashion.

On the recruiting front, Spain no longer is answering questions about the teams involved.

However, he did inform 247Sports a decision could come this summer.

Some believe South Carolina is the team to beat. But schools such as North Carolina and Stanford also seem to be factors.

The 6-feet-6 Spain said he weighed in at 293 pounds Sunday, which is up slightly from his playing weight when the 2012 season began. He missed most of his junior year after fracturing a bone in his left knee in the season opener.

Spring practice begins in two weeks at Providence, and Spain, the No 100 overall prospect and No. 9 tackle in the 247Composite, now is 100 percent.

"I'm very excited," he said.

Spain is not one of those guys who just wow you in any particular way, but he displays the tools to be a good lineman across the board. He has good height with a solid, sturdy build, but needs to develop his frame with more good mass. He can be a physical run-blocker with the ability to get into defenders quickly and deliver a good initial pop.

He also got an invite to participate in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl yesterday as well, likely due in part to his NFTC performance.

I actually got to talk to him and his Mom during the bowl game. First off hes really shy so most info you get is from his Mom. They were all decked out in Gamecock gear and sounded like huge fans. I saw them after too and they had a great time, Bentley was talking like he wanted to be part of the team. Id be shocked if he doesnt commit here.

The main guy at a UNC site two or three weeks ago implied Spain could commit at anytime for the Gamecocks, and might not make it for his early April UNC visit. I think Spain has already made his mind up, judging by the way it was worded.
