A reasonable look at our DL board currently (remember its March, this will change as our coaches get to see more kids in person during Spring Evaluations and new kids pop up at Camp or blew up as seniors.).

DE Hand - talks about visiting and we've been a mainstay in his top 5, ultimately is a long shot.
DE Carter - has scheduled a visit, will be very tough to land. For our staff hating crew, in his recent video - he said South Carolina is recruiting him the hardest.
DE Featherston - we've now offered but until a visit is set up, we can't really discuss him as part of this class.
DE Wideman - we lead and we had led for quite some time now.
DE Williams - we got him on campus for junior day and we may have some staying power here
DE Aniebonam - he will be on campus during his school spring break.
DT Moten - If UF decides to push for him, they will be the heavy favorites. Kid has a lot of interest from a lot of schools now.
DT Ford - its believed that we have the lead here.
DT Pringle - needs to be evaluated by our new DL coach.
DT Gaillard - we just offered, he just visited, he didn't list us in his top 5 in latest interview but he could be telling our staff differently.


The staff will also look into 2012 signees DE J'Haustin Thomas and DT Carlos Hood. I would think if we were to recruit either kid again, their academics would need to be in order so that they could enroll for January as an EE.

I think DE is a bigger need than DT for this class.

Forgot Vickers but hes a lock if he takes care of his business in the classroom, looks pretty good other than that

I could have listed every kid we offered on the DL but I kept it to kids that are actually expected to visit or have visited.

Justin Thornton is visiting this Spring

Dontavious Russell is someone else they are working on, and he either already visited or will be visiting soon.

Figures when the State of South Carolina is loaded with talent we have to be on limited scholarships! This will bite us in the butt....But I see Carter coming to us before Hand and I don't think we'll take Vickers IMO

Well, if you are worried about upsetting HS coaches and ruining relationships, then mishandling the Vickers situation is one that could potentially really harm us. That is a school our coaching staff is investing a lot of time in.

My guess is that our staff made it clear to Vickers and his HS coach that if he attends prep and takes care of his school work to be able to enroll for January 2014, he will have a scholarship at USC.

Just don't want to piss off in state studs. I don't think we'll sign the truly elite DT's on any given year, and that's okay.

I think right now if we can sign 2 DT's then those guys are Pringle and Ford. Galliard would be nice but don't know how strong we actually are with him. I don't

Adams has every right to evaluate Pringle but I'm not sure if he's, Pringle, is upset about it or not. I don't know the kid. Hopefully Adams told him to come to camp and then they'll go from there.

DL Naquez Pringle of Carvers Bay has said in the past that his decision was made. He currently has offers from USC and Clemson but is beginning to garner more interest. With the new interest, he wants to slow things down and listen to the other schools. One of those is Tennessee. "If they offer me, they would be in my top three," said Pringle. "I like what they have going on up there and what they have to offer." Pringle says the Volunteers are talking to his coaches and should be by to see him during spring practice. "I think a lot of schools are coming by and I want to see what's going to happen with all of these new schools," he said. He visited USC recently and has a strong interest in the Gamecocks. "I like what they do on defense and I like (Jadeveon) Clowney a lot," said Pringle. "He's a real down-to-earth guy." He is unsure of any camps he may attend this summer and named LSU and Alabama as two schools he would love to visit. Pringle did not name a leader.
