Gaffney WR Shaq Davidson made an unofficial visit to USC Sunday. He attended the Gamecocks' basketball game against Tennessee. It was the second straight weekend visit to Columbia for Davidson who attended the junior day the prior weekend. Davidson also took in a pair of games at USC last season. He has the Gamecocks as his current favorite ahead of North Carolina, Ohio State, Georgia and Notre Dame. Davidson moved to quarterback midway thru last season and led the Indians to the 4A Division 1 state championship.

Amongst the crowd Sunday at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia for the USC-Tennessee basketball game was Gaffney WR Shaq Davidson. Davidson was back in Columbia for the second straight weekend after attending the junior day the previous weekend. Davidson said he had minimal contact with the football coaches Sunday at the game but got plenty of football information on the prior visit. "I got to know the coaches better and they talked to my dad about school and other stuff," Davidson said. Davidson is scheduled to go to Georgia Saturday but if his basketball team wins Wednesday, he won't be able to make the visit. He's supposed to go to North Carolina the next weekend but again, that depends on his basketball schedule. And he plans to attend Clemson's next junior day March 2nd. Davidson said at this point USC remains the leader. "USC is up top right now with Georgia, North Carolina, Notre Dame and Ohio State," he said. "They make me feel at home when I'm there and I like the coaching staff and atmosphere. And they have nice facilities." Davidson wants to trim his list to five by the start of football season.

WR Shaq Davidson of Gaffney today said he picked up an offer from Auburn. Davidson has been favoring USC. Some of his other offers are Clemson, North Carolina, Ohio State, Georgia, Wake Forest, NC State, Georgia Tech and Notre Dame.

WR Shaq Davidson of Gaffney saw his basketball season come to an unexpected early end last week with a loss to Rock Hill. With the season over, Davidson was freed up to attend Georgia's junior day last Saturday, and he went. "It was nice down there," Davidson said. "The coaching staff was pretty cool, I liked them. They have nice facilities." Davidson will visit North Carolina this Saturday and will go to Clemson's next junior day which has been moved from March 2nd to the 9th. He also plans to visit Auburn which offered Tuesday, and he said he probably will get to USC's second junior day. He was at USC's first junior day earlier this month. Davidson continues to favor USC with North Carolina, Georgia, Notre Dame and Ohio State bunched together behind the Gamecocks. He talked with the Gamecocks earlier in the week. Davidson said North Carolina is recruiting him the hardest after USC. He has no timetable for a decision.

Keep in mind that the Soph highlights are only from about half the year because he injured his knee. If you want to see some fun clips try to find some of his QB scrambles from 2012. Get the man in space and you have a good shot at 6.

I would have to agree that he is as close to a "must get" as they come, since we signed zero WRs in the '13 class. He could be an instant impact player for us.

Shaq, Googer, and Berrios and were done. If we take 3 OL and 5 DL as I've seen suggested, that's 11. Only 3-5 left after that.
You know we're taking 1 QB, TE and RB. Now we're down to 1-2 left. And you know we need LB and DB's.

I'm sure we're going to sign more than 15. If not, then the last 1 or 2 spots will most likely be a DB and a LB (BAW). Also, it wouldn't surprise me if we only go after two OL (Spain & Stanley).
