Sad thing is, that batters eye doesn't even line up with where the sun sets. I have played Legion ball at that park, and the sun sets right to the right of it almost blinding the batters. I guess they wanted symmetry over functionality....

Awww it's so cute

Nah, all joking aside. It's a nice stadium ... it just looks unfinished. They made it so they can go in and add on if need be.

Plus, it's cold as balls through most of Baseball season there, so I'm sure they don't get the turn out we do in 80-90-100 degree weather to need 7+ seats

I don't believe the batters eye is supposed to line up 'with the sun' I believe it has to be directly behind the pitcher - the intent being batters can see the ball leaving the pitchers hand more easily.

At Carolina Stadium - the sun sets behind the third base seats, and the batter's eye is straight back.

That is what I was thinking.
Seems like they need to go down the baseline a little bit.

The weather is definitely one of the biggest factors in terms of attendance. I sat through two midweek games this week that were below 40 and windy. It is hard to motivate casual fans to come sit out in that to see us beat Truman St. by 10 runs. Once April and May roll around the weather gets much nicer and attendance rises, but it isn't consistent enough yet to warrant expansion beyond 3k.

We've had some crappy baseball weather here, too, lately. It has been COLD!

How cold is the weekend supposed to be? USC has had rain and even a bit of snow this season.
I predict your baseball fan base will grow due to being in the SEC. We have some great teams.

You guys are in luck, because Friday is supposed to be the nicest day we've had all year with a high of 74. Saturday will be chillier with a high in the upper 40s and it is supposed to be rainy and chilly on Sunday. I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to play a DH on Saturday if rain looks likely on Sunday.

The facade of TAMU's stadium is beautiful too. They've got ice cream money to thank for that.
The stadiums you mention are all terrific venues for college baseball but I don't think that our boys will be overawed. We played at Baum midweek just last year and obviously have experience playing in College Station and in places like Disch-Falk as well. Don't get me wrong playing in Baton Rouge is different that playing at Tointon Family Stadium in Manhattan, KS but we do have experience in those type of environments.

I just didn't mean the stadiums. I imagine that playing in front of over 8,000 here or 11,000 at Alex Box will be an adjustment next year. LSU fans are passionate about baseball and LOUD. Then again, maybe their "here we go, Tigers, here we go" cheer won't be too distracting for y'all. haha. There is nothing like SEC baseball in a packed house.

Welcome to the SEC! Good luck to your team this week. Either way, a team from Columbia will win!

HEY MIZZOU FAN:

Couple questions,

1) Where does the Key Club set up the Sno-Cone stand, I might want to get one before the line gets too long after the bell rings for 6th period

2) Does the vice principal hang out by the band room busting smokers, or by the main office

3) Will I get ISS for heckling

4) I have a friend who got suspended this year for disrupting during the pep rally (he didn't really do it), is he allowed on school grounds

Thanks in advance

Also, the person who said "careful, our fans have a good reputation" obviously never went to The Sarge, and obviously doesn't know jack shit about college baseball if they think heckling (which, in a way, this thread is doing a good job of so far, in an electronic way) shouldn't be permitted. You're boring

The field is fine, and If we were playing in a parking lot, I hope our team is fired up, ready to Introduce Missouri to Championship level baseball!

I won't heckle at all........ I will let our bats/pitching do the talking!

All I will say to Mizzou, is that we are coming to take all 3 games! I wish you luck in trying to stop us!

The state of Missouri loves baseball, I'm surprised their flagship university's stadium is this crappy. I guess they only like pro baseball. But to be fair, most baseball fans prefer the pro game too.

Not sure how pointing out their crappy stadium reflects badly on us. I guess people can't be honest with their opinions anymore.

Our soccer stadium is garbage yet I don't think most people would care if any other school pointed that out.

There's a difference between heckling during the game and just being arrogant to opposing fans especially about something petty like the field. Some of yall do sound like spoiled brats talking trash about their field when in reality it's probably nicer than foley field at UGA. You honestly can't really see a whole lot from the photo gallery but it really doesn't matter because you don't win or lose based solely on the field. but heckle away I guess
