There is some serious hating in this thread. To the OP: This is a perfectly good "offseason" thread. Way better than "Taneyhill should be our next OC."

Both were the most memorable play in their respective seasons.

Apples and oranges. We needed a first down on a 4th down play in our territory. Ingram takes it home and fakes a DB out (I'm not sure the young man wanted any of Ingram at that speed). Clowney's hit came after a bad call likely would have given the game to Michigan. He took the opening (and nearly took the handoff). What iced the play for me was calmly reaching out and picking up the ball one-handed with every intention of taking it for 6. Most players would have just been looking around. Both plays super cool in their own ways, and showing multiple abilities.

This is a great question in my opinion. I think I go with Clowney's because of the circumstances with the phantom first down call. That was such a blow to morale and Clowney turned it all around in the blink of an eye. Talk about overcoming adversity. If that play had not have happened we would not have won that game.

Exactly. This is the off season. Spring Game is still two weeks away. Not much else to talk about other than which totally awesome play was more awesome. It's two great plays by two great players in the last two years. I don't understand why any Gamecock fan would have a negative reaction to the question.

To me Ingram's fake punt was the better show if athleticism, where "the hit" was straight primal. Looked like it should be on national geographic. If I'm not mistaken, I believe melvin ran the ball in high school. So, we knew he was fast and had experience carrying the rock. Boom, here he goes with this fake...all the way for six! Awesome! Could not believe it! It's great to be a gamecock!
Then comes the hit. Everyone knows Clowney's a beast, everyone! His first two years here have been phenomenal and he was in the national spotlight even before signing day. So the worst call in the history of the sport is made against us in our biggest game of the year, and Clowney says "uh, no, I'm gonna have to take that from ya". I dont think I've ever had an emotional swing like that, ever! I went from shocked to mad to furious before the hit, straight into shocked to speechless to vindicated to a happiness I dont think I'll ever know again. There was also a little fear in there also. Like I just saw a monster or some mythical beast. I can't say if one is better than the other. They both just show how we are on our way to becoming a great program. Go cocks!

The best thing aboit the hit was the previous butt-ream the refs tries to.pull with the non-first down

Ingrams TD run will live on in my.mind as THE highlight thus far of SOS coaching here. A game vs our division rival vs a game against a bigten school...aka little sister of the poor.

I love the hit but we expect big time plays from highly skilled DEs...now when he takes a planned fake punt to the house outrunning an entire team...then we'll talk.
