Backup TE Gary Barnidge to Cleveland. No loss here, but again we are stuck with no money to sign any needs during free agency, I am not sure about any of you but I am sick and tired watching other teams sign during the free agency period while we tweedle our thumbs. This will be a lame duck season for the gutless wonder Rivera and at least two more years until we even have any semblance of salary cap space. Thanks a lot Marty I ain't worth a **** Hurney.

Barnidge sucks, but he was our #2 TE I think. We need to get a good/great TE for Cam. That's a big part of the reason he had such a good rookie season.

And yep, the curse of Hurney continues. I hate him more with each passing day.

The Carolina Panthers already have a good/great TE, Greg Olsen!! I hope you didn't forget about him, he is in that next tier of TE's behind Gronk, Graham, etc. We were lucky to steal him from Chicago

Also, recently resigned TE Hartsock is our #2, a solid blocking TE

In Cam's rookie season, having Shockey as the 2nd TE was awesome. It'd be nice to have another Shockey type player out there to play with Olsen.

Cam Newton: I Have No Interest In Leaving The Panthers

Radio interview - I didn't listen to it, just read some of the blurbs they have on the page, like:

Cam on the Panthers lack of moves: I question it sometimes like fans do but you have to understand Rome wasn’t built in a day. I have complete trust in the organization and if they feel the free agent pool doesn’t yield something we need than I’m 100 percent behind them

Cam on Mike Shula: This isn’t Mike’s first rodeo. I’m excited and it helps I worked so closely with him the last 2 seasons.I wish Chud nothing but the best but I’m ready to move forward with Mike to continue my progress as a QB

Cam on his future in Charlotte: I have no intentions of leaving. I started something here and Intend to finish it here just like at Auburn. We have the talent here to do big things. Its a process and we hope to build a dynasty

Franchise QBs just don't leave like that.
I don't see Cam leaving unless he becomes real bad like VY.

Before someone says Drew Brees and Peyton Manning, Brees sucked his first three years in the league and San Diego was ready to start over. They drafted Rivers and that year Brees won comeback POTY.

Manning was seriously injured and due for a large pay day. Indi had the first pick and weren't sure Manning would be able to return

Franchise QBs also don't find themselves on a terrible and inept franchise that makes mistake after mistake because of a jackass senile owner and his idiotic personnel decisions. The Panthers haven't done anything to make Cam think we're going in the right direction unless you count overpaying old or injury prone RBs as doing something. The Panthers organization is Bush league from top to bottom outside of maybe a handful of players. Panthers have shown they don't win with any kind of consistency since their inception. Unless Gettleman turns this team around in the next two seasons, Cam would be an idiot to re-sign here and waste away the prime of his career. But who knows, he might value money more than winning and the Panthers are no strangers when it comes to overpaying to keep their players.

And I have to LOL at that interview, what do you expect him to say? He's not going to shoot himself in the foot Panthers style by saying something stupid. The comment about him staying and finishing what he started at Auburn is hilarious considering he stayed one year; was he going to leave during a title run or something? LMAO

Cam got drafted. Not like he had very much say in it. This franchise is not an "abortion". 3 NFC Title games and a Super Bowl appearance in 17 year history.

Yeah I didn't forget about Oslen....that's why I said Barnidge was #2. But Cam would do so much better if we had two quality TE's. Jared Cook would have been nice, but thanks to Hurney, we have no money to spend in FA.

One thing we have going against is the Charlotte market. Guys like Cam want to play on the big stage week in and week out. Plus big markets equal big endorsement deals.

If Cam keeps playing at the level he has the first two years, he's gone when his rookie contract is up. With Flacco getting $20 million a year, Cam is going to want more than Richardson will pay. I would say 75% chance he's gone. But a lot can happen in the next year.

Panthers exercise 2014 and 2015 option on Tolbert, just a matter of time now before D-Will's fate will be set in stone either this season or after this season he will be gone.
