Dylan & Connor= 2 best QBs of SOS's time here. You'd have to go back to Anthony Wright or Steve Tanneyhill to find an arguement.

Some off the top of my head. Clemson game Back shoulder to Bruce Deep square in to Nick Jones That bullet on the deep in to Ace to go ahead The final TD to Bruce (Connor takes off) The 2 deep outs to Ace Michigan The long pass to Nice on the seam route The final TD to Bruce (Beauty. Dropped it right where it needed to be) ECU The deep ball that D. Smith caught in the corner. There's also some plays Connor can make that Dylan can't. Dylan can't get out of that sack on the final drive against Michigan. But the thing that Dylan can do 10x better than Connor is the 2nd and 3rd level passes. It has so much potential to be explosive with all this speed

Yeah i will agree with C2. Dylan is a way better passer. I like the fact that he does his drop and lets it go. Connor can make a run here and there but as for me i like DT to be the QB

Even though 3 minutes of the 4:50 highlight by Dylan was against ECU and UAB... I got chills watching some of those throws being made. We just haven't seen that in awhile and it's refreshing to see. Love the confidence as well. Both QB's bring a lot to the table. We have a big advantage having both on our team.

We definitely run more spread option with shaw (obviously because he's a running threat)
With that it brings a lot more blitzing from the defense though. Which is maybe why more of shaw's throws are check downs/ underneath routes and him trying to get out of the pocket. Just seemed like when Thompson was in the defense didn't have to account for the QB running, and played a lot of zone coverage and forced him to have to beat them with his arm. Which he proved he could do. Dylan took his steps, read the defense and made the right throw most of the time. Not to say Shaw couldn't do the same, I just think the defense presents themselves slightly different when Shaw is in. The thing about that soft zone coverage though, means your going to have chances to run the draw play that spurrier likes so much. Come out throwing, get the linebackers and safeties to back up a bit. Show pass & hit them with the draw play and then play action off that. That's the fun n gun in a nutshell basically. If we can find a nice balance between that with Dylan, and the spread option with Shaw on the zone read it could be unstoppable in my opinion. You get the best of both world's.

I agree, and I'm betting we're not the only ones rethinking that game.

There are not a lot of tight windows that Dylan is throwing into. Most of the time SOS has the right played called. If shaw would just let the ball go.....

I'm very undecided. I understand the whole theory of Dylan being a better passer than Shaw. But it's not like Dylan threw those yards against decent defenses. And in the Clempsin game, he should have had 2 interceptions that were dropped. I know that he didn't but still.
Shaw does take off early, a lot. His happy feet get the best of him sometimes. I honestly think if Shaw would have played against Climpsin, he would have prob had 250+ passing and 100+ rushing. Think to games like the UGAy, Mizzu, Tenn, and Arkansas. Connor played like a champion. But who knows, I think both can be winners.

Right now, Thompson's confidence is over the top. I will not speculate how Shaw has been affected by the past season. After all, he knows a lot more about football than I do, and he will have analyzed every game. Realistically, he is probably wondering how LSU would have gone had Thompson played. Shaw is too good not to think about that.

Looking forward to see a healthy Connor and experienced Thompson ball so hard next season.
Also looking forward to our 200+ pound backs eat some clock when needed It is a great time to be a Gamecock fan.

I don't understand why everyone seems to be taking sides and bashing the other quarterback (i.e. Shaw can't make reads or Thompson only completed 52% of his passes). We are blessed to have two SEC caliber quarterbacks that both bring different strengths to the table. With Thompson and Shaw, our quarterback situation looks as good as it has in a long time, and we should be thankful for that.

If either QB struggles at any point next season their will be that same din of rumbles that the other QB should be in there tossing it around. I am glad Spurrier isn't beholden to the emotions of the fans. Shaw and Thompson also already know the way Spurrier is so they should not be shocked if they get pulled for the other guy. I am glad they are friends and can take it is stride. They should understand at this point that their next chance is right around the corner. As I understand it, Thompson is the junior quarterback and Connor is a senior this year. While that should not mean anything - if both qb are hitting, I would like to see Connor get the starts and the majority of the snaps to close out his good career here. Make no mistake though that I am all about victories first and which ever qb gives us that chance should be in.
