I think we got about as favorable a draw as we could. Never know. If our offense can hit a peak and our defense stay solid. Never know.

IDK if they got any kind of favorable draw considering they'll have to play the 2nd best team in the nation in the Sweet 16 and Duke and A&M are in the bottom half. A win over A&M in the Elite 8 to get to Final 4 would be amazing and poetic, but that's a LONG way off.

I'm glad the 2nd weekend will have them playing in Virginia unlike last year when they had to go out to California. Maybe some UVA fans will be there to cheer on their Cavalier legend.

Colorado is a good team. Every game they lost was to either Stanford, Cal, or UCLA and they beat one ranked team in L'Ville

CU has a couple big girls so we don't match up very well and they have a big following so it could be loud. It will be harder than Purdue last year as far as the matchup n the court.

I grew up in South Dakota so let me say that our first round opponent is way more difficult than last year's. The Jackrabbits have a record for most consecutive NCAA tournaments in a row after joining D-I (5). They play with great fundamentals and don't turn the ball over much.

That said, we should still defeat them and once again have to play the second round game on the road. This sport seems to be the one most affected by the Confederate flag rule of hosting. Apparently Welch didn't realize that rule was in place and Gamecock writer I. Khurshudyan will have an article on it this week. It really sucks because if we could host, I know SC would host and we would have close to 18,000 on hand against Colorado.

But last year these women showed they can face the adversity of road games in the tournament, and I have faith they make it past SDSU and Colorado. After that we run into the steamroll that is the 1 seed. But against Stanford earlier this season we proved we can play with anyone in the country, so I hope we can pull something crazy off. That's what March Madness is all about, anyway.

Baseball host sites are merit based. Basketball is a selection process and more politicized.
