The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Gibson worked out at safety and took home MVP honors for his work in coverage. Gibson, who received an invite to The Opening following the event, is quick and reactive with the ability to close ground and make finishing plays on the ball. The four-star Gibson currently has offers from Louisville, Mississippi State, N.C. State, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Notre Dame and a growing list of others.

The Armwood safety is certainly not afraid of contact. He showed great closing speed, the ability to play in coverage, and to pick things up quickly.

Kyle Gibson is trying to follow former five-star and USC signee Leon McQuay III as the next premier back-end defender from Seffner (Fla.) Armwood. The four-star cover corner picked up a Notre Dame offer in February.

We knew Gibson was a good, solid prospect from Armwood but it appears he has really come into his own and taken his game to another level. In an event loaded with safeties he had by far the best day.
