....... Dang. That's awesome. Just don't see that anymore.

And with the George Strait shows, you just don't see all those big names in one place like that. And those tickets weren't bad from what I remember given the show you were seeing. That was before concert tickets got insane. Carter Finley was the best concert I have been to. It was the first time I got to see George Strait. That's all I listened to growing up. And if I remember correctly, the show that Tim and Faith played at, Faith looked about 8 months pregnant. Can't remember if was in Carter Finley or Clemson.

one of them faith was either just about to give birth or had just given birth, and wasnt on the tour, it was just tim, and for the last song of his set he did the song that they did a duet on and was a huge hit, at the end of the song he held a cell phone (Nokia TM ) up to the mike and she sang the last line thru the phone with him (sure it was staged and pre recorded, but it was still cool) yeah, seems like tickets were 50-60 bucks.

Yeah Asleep at the Wheel would play in front of about 2,000 people opening because George opened for them when he was starting. And the place would be slam full by the time George played.

Give me the Stones, Pink Floyd, Springsteen, Led Zeppelin, the Dead anytime. Was anybody else in Columbia during the time that Hootie was playing Rockafellas and Greenstreets in 5 Points? Saw Paul McCarney at WB
Pink Floyd at Death Valley.

Overall as a concert venue, I hate to say it, but Death Valley is better IMO. though after the Pink Floyd Concert it took like 4 hours to get out of Clemson. The traffic is horrible as there are only like 2 roads leaving that town.

I still kick myslef for not going to see Metallica GnR at WB. that was my freshman year and that was at the peak period for both bands.

I'm sort of surprised at these results because having Pink Floyd definitely tips the scale toward Death Valley... there are very few bands that are that amazing live... I saw them in 1989 on the Momentary Lapse of Reason tour and it was incredible. Lots of garnet glasses on this one... either that or there are a whole lot of people who think Metallica in 1992 is better than Pink Floyd in 1994... which is not debatable

Saw U2 at the Brice, Public Enemy opened for them and at the end of their set, they hung a klansman in effigy. I will say that the bass from that shook the crap outa the stadium. Also saw the Stones there with I think Blind Melon opening, who sucked by the way because the lead singer was plastered. I remember going to an all-day concert in I think 95 at Bomber stadium to see Hootie and various other local/regional bands.

I saw U2 on that same tour in Charlotte, and I'm pretty certain the Pixies opened for them... I didn't know public enemy was on some shows. That would've been pretty awesome

I think they had different bands opening for them along the tour.

Saw U2 in Atlanta in 92 (ZooTV tour) and Public Enemy opened for them there as well.
