In all honesty, who gives two shits about UNC football aside from UNC students?

To even consider taking that home game revenue away from Columbia businesses is beyond stupid. I cannot comprehend.

I think UNC students care less about UNC football than anyone

My grandmother went to UNC, so I don't absotuely hate them.

I'm not saying we should play them each year, but I think we should play the Tabaco Rd. teams more. Maybe like once every few years. It'd be hard to do it every year, but maybe like rotate or something.

They aren't a competitive team now, but fedora is a good coach and it is very possible that they eventually get there. Plus having an annual battle of the carolinas would be really cool

I wouldn't mind playing them every year and establishing an even greater pipeline to N.C. We already get our fair share of athletes from that state but there are still some that we lose out on too. We need to continue establishing ourselves as the football school in the Carolinas. So that we can pull the top from both states. Between SC and NC we could rival Ga in terms of quality players produced and if we got all the top from both states we could stay in the upper echelon of the country for a long time.

Not saying playing UNC would help, because I don't know, but I agree that we should do anything we can to establish a dominant recruiting presence in NC. That state has good prospects and no dominant football power. Lock down SC and NC, pluck a handful of good kids from GA and then the a few players from the northeast pipeline and maybe some Florida scraps... I like that formula.

That is a pretty good point, NC produces some top tier talent, and it appears that until recently recruits hadn't put much stock into our small run of success. I don't think it was a coincidence that the year after we beat clemmy for the 4th straight year and UGA for the 3rd straight year as we went 22-4 in 2 seasons, we got in on some big recruits. I think that these top recruits are starting to recognize SC as a part of the upper crust of CFB society, and anything we can do to make it easier to recruit in a talent flushed state like NC the longer we will be relevant for

The northeast could be huge for us, that is another place that we have a pipeline with that has no football power. guys like Jabrill Peppers, Eli Apple, and Alquadin Muhammad are the reasons why I wish we could get into NJ.

Noth v South is made for TV, after we beat the tarholes down in the Brice to start the season next year this game will be hard to ignore for TV and both programs in my opinion.

Why would the heels want to start every year with a loss? And, look how long it is taking them to honor their contract to play us home and home, do you really trust those snobs?

I just do not see how playing UNC EVERY year would benefit USC football in a large enough way to make it worthwhile. If we win, great we were supposed to. If we lose, we lose a lot more than just the game.

I think it would be much more beneficial to play FOOTBALL SCHOOLS out of the northeast and midwest. We would get better, more far reaching results by playing teams like A&M, Wisconsin, OSU, or Michigan.

That could all change if the ACC becomes a football conference. But right now, It would just be another game unless we lose. That's just my opinion though. I could be wrong.

It would not be a bad idea to play them every few years though. Just to remind them and their recruits who the boss is.

Playing BIg10 teams would help them leach some of precious instate prospects...UNC never will recruit well in this state for football....I say play them regularly and get as many top prospects out of NC as possible...Now playing Rutgers makes great sense from a recruiting perspective

We should take that game permanently and rotate acc schools. Norte Dame, FSU and etc. we can beat the best in the ACC!!

If they were a top tier ACC team I would agree with you and maybe they will be in the future but for right now, I don't see any reason to play them...If we simply must add another ACC team then add Florida State so we can play top notch competition....that will advance our program (assuming we play well)....UNC just doesn't do anything for us in my opinion.

Exactly. They are not even consistently at the top in the ACC right now. Outside of this area, it would be just another game that we are supposed to win. The tobacco road schools are basketball schools all the way. If North Carolina FOOTBALL recruits are not impressed by USC competing with the best football teams in the country week after week, choosing instead to go to UNC, there is not much that will impress them. If they don't want to play against the best competition every week, instead choosing the easy way out, they are not the kinds of recruits we want at the University of South Carolina.

Not to say that playing them every now and then is a bad idea. It would be good to remind recruits why they should come to USC instead. I just don't think playing them EVERY YEAR will benefit us anymore than what we are already doing, taking on the top teams every week.
