So that's worse than the Bobby Petrino saga? It's only cost him here and the USC AD better work this out or we'll lose an excellent coach.
G.A. is the only asst. coach who has HBC and OC experience. We better not let him go...he may be the best QB coach out there.

Does Muschamp come after Elliott to fill the vacant Oline Coach position? i sure would hope that AD Tanner/HBC would match any offer UF made.

I don't think so. Looks like Muscamp wants Neil Callaway as OL coach. We'll see if he can lure him away from mighty Western KY. Especially if Clay Helton takes the OC job at UF. Helton was the OC at socal and has ties to Callaway.

If the Rutgers OC job ever opened up, I feel like Mangus would be the #1 candidate. With Rutgers moving to the B1G, they need to keep those instate kids at home and Mangus would be a BIG help in doing that.

Would that be a good career move, though? Stay in the SEC and work under Spurrier and hope they can win a title in the next couple of years and then better opportunities are bound to happen. Seems like the Rutgers OC job could end up being a dead end.

There is another potential job for him now that Penn St. has fired their Q coach although I'm not so sure that they will look past the pee party.

Mangus is constantly one of our best recruiters though.

He is. And he has weathered the storm after his incident in G'ville. I like our chances of keeping him on board for the foreseeable future.

Mangus and Elliot would be the biggest losses if anyone was to leave. The Mangus issue wouldn't be a big deal to anyone outside of the area and his recruiting and coaching experience will make people ignore something that simple and stupid. Elliot is in his "dream location" but so was Ellis Johnson and they all listen to offers. I just don't think there is anyone else on the staff that any other school is going to look at and try to steal away.

Notre Dame offensive coordinator Chuck Martin has accepted the HC job at Miami (OH).

Will ND go after a SEC OC? Like Doug Nussmeier (Alabama - offensive coordinator) who is also a possible candidate at Washington, unless Jim Mora takes the job.

Spurrier has made several comments supporting his coaches. Even his halftime quickie interview vs Clemson was a shot at the fans who want coaches fired. Spurrier said, "they've only got ten points".

I'm kind of bemused that Mangus' arrest makes anyone think he is damaged goods.

I don't think it matters two fiddlesticks. I mean people hire Trooper Taylor knowing full well what they are getting into.

And you think anyone cares that Mangus got a public pee pee charge? I just can't buy it. I think it is a giggler for coaches, and universities honestly. I'm sure they strike the pose and look serious at press conferences, but come on.

Even Spurrier himself said he was lucky to still have a career in coaching after what happened. It's over now, but it was a bigger deal than most want to admit at the time. Mangus is an integral part of our recent success and I'm glad he's still on board and hope he continues his career in Columbia, SC for years to come.

I don't see anybody going anywhere. Elliot would never leave unless it's for a head coaching job and why leave when you could be HBC in waiting.

BS. He can leave and restart elsewhere if he wants. Look at Petrino or George O'Leary. People want to win.

We downgraded G.A.'s pay due to the arrest and something to do a recruiting violation. He was the lowest paid member of the staff at one point and right now I'd bet he can get 3X his current pay elsewhere.
I will be surprised if he does not become a HBC again somewhere one day.
USC better be smart and work with the man....he is a huge part of what's going on right now.
