Default Video: P. Cooper wildcat TD pass to Wilds

Probably my favorite moment of the whole game. Excellent set up during the game for this play by the HBC. Great execution by the players. Nail in the coffin for the game! Enjoy:

Shuey the middle LB either bit inside or never saw Wilds till he cleared the line.

Shuey at 6-3 250 is slow. He has the size we lack at MLB.
They were stacking the box as if it were a run. That big MLB becomes a liability once a RB clears the line.

Watching that video, I noticed where Shaw went to after the snap. It looked like Shaw was supposed to be Cooper's second option for a double pass if the first look wasn't open.

Kinda surprised Shaw and Cooper can switch places like that. Thought you could only have one person motioning in the backfield at a time

you can move two guys at the same time as long as both get set at
least one second before the ball is snapped. Most of those "two men in
motion at the same time" penalties happens when you move two guys
and one of them isn't set before the snap. Also, you might see a switch like
that, and one of the two after switching, continues in motion while the other
gets set.As long as both men are set for a full second you're fine... Then either of
them or another player can go in motion before the snap.

Absolutely ! We ran that switch with Coop and Shaw a couple of times
out of that same exact formation. Both times Coop ran the ball outside
the right tackle and picked up a few yards. .. That particular play the
LBs sold out on the run, and Brandon was like "tippy toe, tippy toe"
WIDE ASS OPEN behind the second level defenders ...Absolutely PERFECT
time to call that play, PERFECT set up and PERFECT execution.

Thing of beauty that was

I'll tell you another play that was B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L to see.
Can't remember who we were playing (think it was the Florida game).
Early in the first half. We lined up in a strong set with Buster Anderson
in an "H" back position tight to the right side. The play was similar to
this play in the OP, but we had Connor at QB. We ran the play like a
Zone Read with Shaw Faking the dive to Mike, then he ran the ball to
the right side and the defense bit on it, just like Clemson's LBs did here.
Buster tapped a guy like he was blocking and then floated past the rush
and Connor hit him with the short pass like the one above, and Anderson
picked up about 15-20 yards on that play. ..... We need to run these
more often ... .just don't "over do it".

Considering the number of plays we ran out of the Wildcat before we ran this play, I'm thinking it was a TD regardless of how much ground they needed to cover to get there.

It absolutely amazes me at not only Pharoah being an athletic specimin as a true freshman, but how well he has picked up the offense and has become a major contributor as a true freshman. if he keeps this up they might as well just hand him the heisman for best player in all of college football.

I love the way Wilds finished that play by covering up & securing the ball until he was well into the endzone. That's how it's supposed to be done. Excellent ball security.

I told my family before the game that Cooper would throw a TD pass. I had a feeling the taters would not respect his arm.

Another play I'd love to see is the tackle eligible Saunders scored on in Oxford a few years ago. Cooper to Zandi would be pretty sweet.

set up the play very well. Wilds had been the lead blocker for Connor over and over but this time slipped out. this would have worked without the switch but the switch cemented the run in the tigers head. great play call.

I don't care what anyone else says, the best part of that video is when Tommy Suggs says, "I got me a new dog...." lol.
