I'm a little bit upset that there isn't at least one of our offensive lineman on this list, everything else I can live with.

Clowney is clearly in the right place. There is not a defensive lineman that any team in the country would rather have regardless of stats.

Mike Davis had some fumble issues throughout the season which probably led to him being lower than would be expected.

Quarles, Hampton and Golightly played their hearts out this year and were rewarded for it.

Unfortunately for Connor Shaw public perception is not on his side. When people outside of Gamecock fans think of SC, they think of Clowney, Spurrier and our defense. This usually leads to Connor Shaw being an afterthought. Essentially he has AJ MCcarron syndrome, except Shaw's team has less success.

Not sure how you can call Nick Marshall a QB since he hardly throws the ball.

And how does Zach Mettenberger get honorable mention over Shaw?
Marshall got his team to the SEC in his first try, Shaw never did. Like it or not, that is the way these people look at it and I hate it for Shaw but as great as he was, he didn't get us to Atlanta much less win it like Marshall did. It's the way of the world. Mettenberger simple, he plays for LSU and Shaw plays for South Carolina. 3 of Shaw's losses cost him and our team major and if he wins those 3 games, you would see him all over the All-SEC team but he just didn't get it done on the road. I hate feeling and saying all this but it's true.

None of our players will get respect until we make it to Atlanta. Plain and simple.

Shaw doesn't have gawdy stats. It doesn't matter he threw only one interception all year. It doesn't matter he has never lost at home. Doesn't matter he has beaten 3 top 25 teams.

Evidently the writers were only asked to vote and turn in a first team. They didn't pick 2nd team and honorable mention. So that means each writer could only pick 1 qb for their ALL-SEC team. The 2nd team and honorable mentions were filled out by the number of votes each player got..
While I love Connor and think he did an awesome job, I can understand how he didn't make this list. If you were a writer and could only pick 1 QB to vote for, who would be the 1 you voted for? We have a good crop of QB's this year in the SEC.

Shell? I'm not bashing the man, but his play has been a long way from being all-sec caliber. He has been beaten badly and consistently on passing downs this year. But I do feel like Cann should have been on there somewhere, even if only in the honorable mentions.
