I don't think I've ever reacted to a play like I did after the 4th and 15. Maybe The Hit from last year, but wow I wasn't expecting us to convert that.

These would be my honorable mentions .. I don't really have a reason why they didn't make my list.

Clowney's hit in UT game

Chaz Sutton's forced fumble/strip vs Clemson

Dylan Thompson threading the needle to Nick Jones

Damiere Byrd slant for TD against State. We used to run versions of this play all the time pre-2010

Connor Shaw threading the needle to Nick Jones vs Vanderbilt.

Mike Davis' back to back 75 yarders

my top 3:

1. The Doink Heard round the world
2. 4th and 15 - TD - Connor to Bruuuuce - I was literally on my knees in front of my TV (not blocking anyone's view, mind you, and I had my head in my hands and I saw Connor let her fly with confidence and rose up as the ball arrived and jumped screamed.
3. MD28 UGA 75 YD TD run because duh, that was cray

a) I think that Connor to Bruce throw in the Vandy game is Connor's single best throw here.

b) My lord I did not realize how many straight up burner td's byrd had. Imagine what next year is going to be like with someone who can really air it out, although it'll be tough replacing Connor's deadly deep accuracy.

c) Watching damiere's UTenn TD is so sad. WTH to us in that game? ugh.

Default Re: My personal favorite plays of 2013

a few more things:

1 - it is GREAT to have such a young kicker, and even greater that he is so damn good. we just need a consistent punter. hull is getting there.

2 - any word yet on if roland is considering going pro after next year? His hands and body control scream NFL talent. And a ? for bruce - will he be back next year? As in he still has a year left to play and wants to play

3 - we need to use pharaoh as much as we can. screens and wildcat IMO are the best way to do that. I liked when we had a QB in and Pharaoh in the slot and they switched. Seemed to throw off the defense just enough to catch them off guard with the quick snap once Pharaoh was set. Pharaoh is gonna be a fan favorite, no doubt.

4 - we either need to move Buster to WR, or we need to actually use him as a receiving TE. He had zero TD's this year. That, imo, is unacceptable. IDK if it was playcalling, bad luck, dropped passes or what, but I expect huge things out of him next year. Lord knows he is capable.

5 - MD28. Heisman. Goodness. The kid just needs to get a tad faster, stronger, and battle-tested. I know his work ethic and I can only imagine what he is gonna do in the weight room this winter/summer. I expect Mike to have a year similar to Marcus' freshman year. He has the speed Marcus did not. He has the moves and his vision is pretty darn good. I know it's lofty, but I don't think it's unfair to place Heisman candidate expectations on Mike.

6 - DAT QB RACE! We all know what D.T. is capable of, even on the road. Noso never got to show too much, but what he did show I loved. He is a gamer, much like Shaw. And we all know we have Mr. Mitch waiting in the wings as the next big one. I wouldn't be shocked to see DT start the year and split time with Mitch, with Mitch eventually getting the gig. I just think with his skill set, arm strength, and size that he can be kept off the field. We are so very lucky we can redshirt talent like him.

My absolute favorite play of this year, and really the only one that I absolutely went bonkers over when it happened, was when Clowney sacked Boyd in the Clemson game.

As much trash as they had talked about him, as much as they had dogged him and downtalked him, that sack was VERY enjoyable.

I absolutely went crazy.

It is unreal how accurate Connor is with the deep ball.

He was really banged up in the last three or four weeks of the season.

Ellington just graduated but I would expect him to complete his football eligibility here next year. His stock is still rising as a receiver.

Byrd is a beast, a true weapon. He impressed me as a guy who could get hit and still hold on to the ball aside from that speed.

Unless Roland has an All-SEC season next year I think he'll be back for a 4th year. It took him a couple years but I think he officially arrived in the Clemson game. The ball stuck to his hands like glue in that game. He was a difference maker.

No need to switch Busta to WR next year. We just need to target him in the redzone more. We still split him away from the line just like he's a receiver some time so I don't have a problem with his role, just expand it. He's a mismatch for some of those LBs.

All this talk about our skill players has me excited for next year...Senior QB, Jr RB, 2 Sr WR and 1 Jr WR, 1 Sr TE. Not to mention potentially 4 starting OL coming back.

Roland will have to have a monster season to go pro. He is capable but I expect him to stay all 4 years.

We will see cooper in the wildcat a bunch next year. DT will start is my prediction.

MD has said he is not a 25+ carry a game back we will see plenty of Wilds and Williams next year.

Busta dropped several TD passes this year. I think Connor went away from him after the drops. Hope he rebounds with a big year. Great talent.
