It says a lot about the influence of major college athletics on universities when these types of people are admitted but are completely lost by the time they step into a classroom.

It is kind of insulting to non-athletes that these types of students are allowed in to these schools based on pure athletic ability.

I'm confused why does any of this matter at all? Isn't the point of college and school in general to become good enough at something so that you have a job for the rest of your life.

Clearly if you are a college level athlete you are in the .01% in terms of being good at what you do. So mission accomplished right?

Not sure what you are saying.

An overwhelming majority of athletes that leave college do not get paid for athletics after they leave. For every JD Clowney, there are 10 guys that won't get paid.

I feel like this article just needs to say to 2 major college sports,
Football and basketball.
