Jeremy Pruitt runs a 3-4 defense. And the 3-2-6 and 3-3-5.

Like clemson, development is the issue at jawja. They always have highly ranked recruiting classes and come up short, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

We'll see, kinda the same thing happened with Franklin to PSU.

----------------------------

Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton has emerged as a candidate to replace James Franklin as the Commodores’ head coach. Hamilton is just 39 and has one season under his belt with the Colts. Before that, he spent three seasons as the offensive coordinator for Stanford.
If the report is true, it’s easy to see the attraction on Vanderbilt’s part. After all, Hamilton coached at an elite academic institution and is familiar with the challenges of recruiting and scouting in that setting.
It also makes sense when you consider that one of the other names being bandied about is Stanford defensive coordinator Derek Mason, who coached with Hamilton under both Jim Harbaugh and David Shaw.
Both Hamilton and Mason would fit the bill if having experience at an elite school is what Vandy is looking for.

That would seem to be an odd move. Colts would have a great chance to go far next year and you're coaching The Next Great QB. Why go to a school that you will have a great chance is sinking back to 5-7? Short term, maybe he'd make more $$$, but long term might be a different story.
I'd also read somewhere yesterday that the job was Mason's to say "no" to, and he wasn't going to say no.

Clemson isn't an elite school? You mean all that effort they put into manipulating their academic rank in the U.S. News rankings went to waste?

He sounds like a favorite, for sure. Vandy is having to interview multiple people. I suppose it's policy at this point.

Vanderbilt: According to 247 Sports, St. Louis Rams offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer is interviewing today for the Vanderbilt head coaching job.

UGA really may be a National Title contender next year if they can field a top 10 D.

All depends on the QB position.

Yea it doesn't look like Vandy is interested in Morris.

Rams OC, Colts OC, Stanford's DC, and Mich st.'s DC all seem to be above him

The winner of the East could very well be a Nat. Title Contender.

Hutson Mason has yet to prove anything against equal or better competition.

I think mizzou and USC has a lot better chance of winning the East than Georgia does next year.

FWIW

Zach Barnett ‏@zach_barnett 7m Sat between two BCS assistants on my flight home. Not exactly excited to start recruiting. "It's two weeks, suck it up and do it," one said.

LSU: LSU has offered the offensive line job to Virginia Tech offensive line coach Jeff Grimes.

Robb Smith: Robb Smith is still a strong candidate at both Arkansas and Rutgers. He is on the Rutgers campus today
Smith was Rutgers’ defensive coordinator in 2012 before serving as linebackers coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season.
