Check my track record, I'm pretty darn good at projecting talent (I wouldn't say anything if I hadn't seen the kid in person). The Sandman has my back on this one. For those who think Wilds won't have the #s to enter the draft, scouts drool over his size & speed (faster than Davis all day every day & a bruiser). Carson...odd man out & they almost pulled Williams' RS twice this year bc...well I won't trash one of our players.

Regardless, if Scott will do what the staff asks him to do, he could have an excellent career at Carolina.

I didn't say Scott wouldn't have to wait his turn. Davis and Wilds will be the guys this year, with Williams working his way into the mix. I don't expect too much from Carson honestly. If they DID decide not to redshirt Scott he does have the talent to make plays and get on the field if given the chance, and eventually be our #1 back. He is good enough to give Williams and Wilds a run for their money next year. They can't make defenders miss and run the wrong direction like Scott and they don't use the blockers as well as he does.

Under the rules a commit can DE-Commit before enrolling. Other coaches can talk with a player until they sign the Letter of Intent or enroll. Therefore players are targets until they enroll. Also with approximately 3000 high schools and only 8 basketball recruiters, I'm sure they will miss a few players. This is not mandatory just a suggestion to those who want to help.

Seen Williams play? I won't go nuts about this bc it doesn't matter, but please note the size of the feature RBs in the HBCs system (especially zone read). SOS' RBs run up the middle / btw the tackles & must block 240 pound blitzing LBs. If Scott is capable of doing that as well as Davis, Wilds, & Williams, he still won't play next year...

See David Williams practice against our first team defense & you will know who should have been #2 the second Wilds got hurt. We have nasty depth bc we were able to RS him. The "you never know until they play" thing doesn't apply to Williams (surely someone else saw him practice ....STUD).

Again, Scott would add another dimension to our O, but I don't see him as a every down back...Still, he.would.be.used.in.many roles & would be.most.valuable

Williams, barring injury & provided our OL is , will

Power run game primarily out of spread formation. I love it...the LBs have to be big enough to stop the big runs, which means they usually are not fast enough to cover the RB/TE. It also forces them to do more single coverage due to loading the box. Place the ball well in single coverage and we do some damage with the passing game.

Offenses are getting away from 1 prime RB and moving toward 2. I agree with that Williams is the all around better back, but Scott has the play making ability to possibly get better results. He isn't going to be able take tackles like Williams, but if Scott is constantly breaking big runs than he can be a big part of the offense. He isn't going to be able to carry the load by himself, Reggie Bush had Lendale White to help him. We can do something similar.

Yeah, the backs at LSU, Georgia, and 'Bama have really struggled when they have to share time.

If Scott chooses UT he's not using his head, IMO.

Who else is going to run the ball in 2015? It's reasonable to think Wilds, Davis, and Carson will all be gone after 2014.

Plus, he's going to a division rival. Maybe I'm the only one, but I'm not necessarily a huge fan of playmakers playing against us, particularly the ones we once had a big lead for.

I understand that Wilds won't have the big numbers in 2014.....but pro scouts will look at his size and speed and see that he can be very productive in the NFL. There are plenty of very good backs in the NFL that weren't big names in college.

I understand the rules, I'm just saying after a player commits, they are classified as commits and those that haven't committed are classified as targets. You can call them whatever you want.

Yea they say Hurd looks like a beast in the workouts so far that he has done since he enrolled this month.

Hurd also has all spring where Scott won't show up till this summer.
