McClain is from Florida, he's not going to like that 20 degree weather and snow.

He is a local kid here. I know locally he is thought of as a much better than a 3* player. May be because no one knows exactly what position he will protect as.
Sandalwood is a big school, so great competition.

I did not realize he decommited from FSU, weird because he was very vocal at helping recruit to FSU. He would be a huge pick up. Great upside.

No worries, he was close to Pruitt, and when he left he was left in the cold. Unless Whammy leaves, we are good.

More than that, FSU started talking to him about switching to OL and greyshirting. Pretty big thing to do and he was not happy with the plan.

That could be the case as we may not have room. Rumors flying around that we are after 2 committed prospects not including Wideman. If we land those guys we may not have room to sign Williams and place him. Going to be a fun Signing Day this year. Freshly decommitted DE Blake McClain of Jacksonville, FL met this afternoon at his school with USC recruiter Steve Spurrier Jr. and will entertain the coach in his house tonight for a family gathering. “It was real good, we had a nice long talk,” McClain said of this afternoon’s meeting. “He talked about how they lost their starting defensive ends and they are looking to sign two defensive ends and I could fit right in with their defense.” McClain is scheduled for an official visit to Nebraska this weekend and he will take that trip. He’s never visited USC and it would be tough to get in before the dead period hits midnight Sunday. And he has limited knowledge about the Gamecocks right now. “I know their defense is pretty much incredible and I like how they run their 4-3,” he said. McClain said right now his decision is between USC and Nebraska and he has no lean. Nebraska, however, got the jump on everyone. “They were in yesterday to talk to (commitment) Chris Jones and they just lucked into him,” said his coach Adam Geiss said. “They had an in home visit last night.” Geiss said right now McClain has an official visit set with Nebraska for this weekend but that could change after tonight’s visit with USC. “He may say the heck with Nebraska.” McClain had been committed to the Seminoles but things started to change for him after defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt left for Georgia. “They started messing with him talking about playing the offensive line and greyshirting,” Geiss said. “It was not a good fit after Pruitt left. He told Florida State he was moving on.” Last season McClain had 15 tackles for loss, 11 sacks and he caused 5 fumbles. “The kid’s an All American,” his coach said. “He’s very athletic and can play inside or outside.”

I'm hoping for Drew Barker or Nick Chubb. Maybe Nick realized he's at best 4th string next year at UGA if not 6th. Here he could be 2B at worst.

Barker was an EE, he's already in Lexington, he's the guy they got to demo their all grey unis.
