This kid will be a good player as a TE or DE. I dont see him as an RB. Too slow and runs too high. The Derrick Henry comparisons are hilarious. Henry clocked a 4.37 laser time at 230+ lbs in HS.

CC said it was because Kalan Ritchie will be moving to DE when he steps on campus, so they need another TE.

I said he COULD be MADE our VERSION not that he was going to be as good. And Henry doesn't run a 4.37 now. A poor man's Derrick Henry could probably win the Heisman most years.

I just think it is funny imagining a player to be another player. Thats like saying imagine that Connor Mitch could be our Peyton Manning. Henry still runs at the worst in the 4.5 range now, which is extremely fast for a guy his size. I just don't see this kid ever running that speed let alone playing RB in the SEC.

Rooster, where did you get that 40 time? His 247sports.com profile says he runs a 4.83, 40.

He plays at Theodore HS west of Mobile. They aren't a great program but they play some very good teams in the Mobile area.

He runs it now, you can tell he has that kind of speed just by watching his film.

What are you saying that Anderson and Adams were used this year? They were used plenty. Just that to SOME people around here they will NEVER be used enough.

I don't think one year speaks to a standard volume Tight Ends get. It was a much more consistent year for receivers, with 4 having 4+ TD's. Compare that to 2012 when we had 2 receivers with 4+ TD's.

I'm not knocking this recruit. I watched the highlights.

My point is yes, Cook, Saunders and Cunningham are in the NFL....but we have premiere TE's on this team. Maybe the best TE tandem in the SEC and in years past (Cook, Saunders) would get the crossing routes underneath. This year....those plays disappeared.

My point.....if that trend will continue, then why pursue that talent at TE if it will not be utilized. Could just as well get pure blocking TE's or go for more WR's.

Seems like number 89 caught a TD pass in the bowl game, plus at least one other critical third down conversion. Maybe that is wrong. That is just the most recent game.

No, way 6th Street in Austin is huge. UT has a great music and nightlife scene. If Ford is the type of person who succumbs to temptation, then Purdue might be an option. OTH, maybe Ford is looking for the best party school in the nation. USC, Texas, and Purdue would stack up pretty good in that competition.

Another possiblility noted to me is the HC's father played at CU. Don't doubt the father did play for CU. That would explain the HC's action were he leading Ford to CU vs SC but, as some have pointed out, it seems Ford is being encouraged to leave the state entirely which doesn't seem to necessarily support the CU vs SC perspective but ...?? It is an interesting "soap" regardless of the motives.
I am discounting the CU conspiracy theory. Not because it might be true. Rather, CU is mostly irrelevant anymore. It is not a rivaly so much as it is a domination.

If you want to have a good understanding of this entire matter, you need to go back and read all posts after about November 30. I can tell you that I and another poster received PM's from someone calling himself BJ Payne. I have no way to know if this was him, but the other poster asked him a question that only Payne would know the answer and he answered it correctly.

Go back to page 55 and start reading.....it won't take as long as you might think.

Payne isn't dumb enough to try to send Ford to Clemson. If he did it would make him look like a Clemson booster with his dad being a former player there and probably still having strong ties. That is why he makes the "I don't think I own a Clemson hat" remarks. He doesn't wanted to be busted for being a booster and get Clemson in trouble. So what he does is he just makes sure he doesn't go to USC instead.

No it, nor anything else that comes to mind, excuses such action if indeed that is the case. What I said is that relationship might explain an individul with similar connections taking action to favor his preferred program at the expence of thier adversary had he done that. however the post widely agree he isn't giuding the young man toward CU but indeed away from SC, CU.. all the state of SC and, in some minds, away from the deep south in it's entirety.
He is the HC,not agent as has been accused.

That brings up a most interesting stand I have seen presented by many of our fans. That being that due to our recent run the overall history of the matchup isn't relative. The only thing that matters is the now....who last won and how many yrs in a row that streak runs. Clearly at 5 that is presently us.

here is the delima with discounting the series history. one can't have it's cake and eat it two. If we win ongoing with out exception, which will suit us all just fine, then the above stand works just fine but if at any point CU pulls a win then anyone with any credibility has two choices... Either stay with the "live in the present, past means nothing" which hands sway back to CU or history does count and go with the overall series #s.

That is why I choose to go with a combo aproach. History does indeed matter and credit where it's due to CU however the recent trend, is team winning a majority of the recent contest, is a better indicator of the programs standing.
