Saying that, he is just a kid and his body is not done developing by any means so with a college S&C program, he may have no trouble adding good weight to his body. He also may be able to be effective around 235 as a pass rusher because of his God given talent. However, if he is to eventually be an every down DE in the SEC - he will have to add some mass to his body. Darrius English was 218 on his OV as a senior in HS, he is just now getting close to 240lbs and they are very similar in build. English is in his 3rd year in our S&C program and entered the 2013 season at a playing weight of 226, which is +8lbs in 2 years at USC. I think the kid has a special talent as a pass rusher right now but he will have to work very hard on his nutrition and in the weight room in college if he is going to take his game from elite HS player to elite SEC player. Aside from Vic Beasley, the top pass rushers in the country were 250+.
He can be 290 lbs if he wants to be. If he does the right things. Nutrition and lift heavy

It's an especially bad mistake when you look at the fact that they scheduled it on the exact same weekend as the Rivals Camp in Atlanta (which had 16 of the Rivals Top 100 players attend there last year, which should sound especially high considering these are regional camps held all over the country and only the more regional kids in that Top 100 went to the Atlanta camp versus Florida camps or elsewhere in the country).
Alabama's is March 1st. It doesn't seem like that big of a deal. I also wonder if it's a matter of getting the last chance to put in an impression in terms of Junior Days.

Default Re: 2015 - CeCe Jefferson

Apparently has a coach who worked for Clemson (no idea who it is or in what capacity) but seems to think highly of USC. Seems to visit UF alot but it's really close so that may be the reason why.

"Jefferson admitted that he is a little behind with recruiting and has not begun to consider narrowing his lists. He did, however, express interest in the Tigers and Gamecocks. He named Jadeveon Clowney and Vic Beasley as two of his favorite players and, in part, credited them with his interest in the two South Carolina schools. “Obviously, Steve Spurrier has had a great career as a coach,” he said. “He has also put a lot of players in the NFL. They’re a really good program and I’m hearing a lot of good things about them so I definitely want to check them out.”

Ummm...it's not necessarily easy to go from 200 to 290, with most of that weight comprised of muscle, and still maintain any sense of speed or flexibility.

Devin Taylor was able to do it, but not everyone can.

Never said it was easy, but anyone can.

Realistically and ideally he can get up to hopefully 235-40 by the start of his redshirt freshman or true Sophmore season adding mainly muscle

ETG is 100% right. This kid is very very similar to English. He is a nice talent but he will have to develop and I really doubt he will make any type of instant impact.

Nah man not everyone can. Yeah if you want to get on PEDS than yeah but not everyone cannot just gain that type of muscle mass naturally. No way.

No sir you are wrong. It is extremely possibly for someone to add 35-40 lbs of muscle in about 2 years. Especially at these age groups.

All do respect, I work in this industry and have seen it done time and time again.

To say that an 18 year old kid can't put on 35 lbs in almost 2 years is ludacris. I've trained kids and seen others that have added almost that much in a year. Proper nutrition and eating enough combined with a good strength training program and it is possible.

100 percent agree. It will be a long and hard road to put on the weight he needs to but entirely possible in a few years

Default 2015 has potential to be a big get from the Northeast

Just browsing the offer sheet, and it seems we have targeted a lot of guys from the Northeast..and it seems we stand a good shot to land a few of them, especially with such a weak class coming out of SC this year.

QB Brandon Wimbush (NJ)
WR Irvin Charles (NJ)
WR Jalen Christian (MD)
OL Sam Madden (NJ)
OL Steve Gonzalez (NJ)-we have slipped with him
OL Grant Newsome (NJ)
OL Ryan Bates (PA)-PSU commit
DL Adam McLean (MD)
LB Manny Bowen (NJ)
DB Minkah Fitzpatrick (NJ)
ATH Juwan Johnson (NJ)

Another guy I'm looking at is OL Tommy Hatton out of NJ.

I think we have a legit shot to land Wimbush, Christian, Madden, McLean, Bowen, Fitzpatrick and Hatton (if we offer).
-Wimbush and Fitzpatrick are teammates.
-Madden and Bowen are teammates.

Good recap. Those guys from the northeast probably don't mind getting down here where the weather is nicer and the girls prettier.

Default Another Spurrier quote

http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports...rrier/5643397/

Spurrier noted that South Carolina had successfully slowed rival Clemson's uptempo offense in the past by keeping it off the field. The Tigers averaged 81.5 plays a game in 2013, but managed only 57 in a 31-17 loss to South Carolina. In losses in 2011 and 2012, Clemson ran 60 and 59 plays, respectively.

I really don't like the up-tempo game. Its a gimmick offense designed to cover up and hide deficiencies. It levels the playing field against teams like Bama that load up on 5-star talent, and thats probably a good thing, but I just don't like gimmick offenses.
