Very true. There was a chapter in my Intro to Sport Management book junior year about TV ratings and there was a whole section in that chapter about the height of figure skating ratings. I wish I still had the book and so I could reference it, but it's right up there with soccer, baseball and American football. For both male and females in all different age groups.

I watched some of the figure skating when it meant something but the gala there are no medals on the line making it as meaningful as a 4th NFL preseason game. But figure skating only matters every 4 years so I guess let them have their Pro Bowl.

They won 1 medal out of 24 possible medals in just short track let's not even discuss long track and act like they world beaters? I don't think so, show some humility that they laid one of the biggest eggs in US Olympic history.
