Supposed to be sarcastic. About a year ago taters were saying how they should be in the SEC because of their "success" vs the conference and their "domination" of the ACC

I've said it 1000x times, but there's a solution to the permanent cross division rival thing, and it's realigning the divisions. Move Auburn and Alabama to the east and Mizzou and Vandy to the west. That way it preserves Tenn vs Bama, Auburn vs UGA and the Iron bowl (and let's be honest, these are the only 3 games the SEC front office really cares about "protecting"), and we get to see teams other than A&M more frequently than once every 8 years....

In addition, at least one opponent from the ACC, Big 12, Big Ten or Pac-12 must be scheduled by each SEC school on an annual basis beginning in 2016, with assistance from the conference office.
Looks like the conference office will be entertaining an SEC-Big 12 showdown, which would be pretty cool as an opening game weekend series. Mizzou might get to play Kansas again if some kind of deal between the super conferences can be struck with a media partner.

Regarding the permanent opponents, I understand UF's pain. Maybe we can trade them for the A&M game. I would not mind LSU as a permanent opponent just because their fans are so crazy, maybe the craziest in the SEC.

Twp of the permanent opponents are great rivalries (UT-Bama; UGA-AU). The Mizzou Arky rivalry looks like it could be a dynamite game. Smart move by the SEC.

So that would be LSU vs division winner of EAST (Alabama, AU, Ga, Fla, Tenn, USC...oh yeah & UK) most every year in ATL. Heck, why don't we just trade out UK for LSU....talk about lopsided division power!!!

Are you nuts?!?! So every season we have to play Bama, Auburn, UGA, Florida, and Tennessee!!!

This completely dilutes the West with only LSU and possibly A&M and Mizzou being top notch competition.

This upcoming football season will be the first edition of "The Champion's Bowl" against the SEC & Big 12.

http://espn.go.com/college-football/...ig-12-sec-game

However, I do like the notion of having opening weekend SEC vs Big12, but we still would be playing clemson and folks like bama would most likely play McNesse St. and Furman to round out their schedule.

Get over it, That's tater thinking. Just because something is hard, doesn't mean that's a reason NOT to do it.

Competition will only make us better. To be the best, you have to beat the best...

The SEC wouldn't do that because it puts 5 of the big 6 in one division.

They'll keep it how it is now.

As much sense as having Missouri (geographically the 3rd most western team in the conference) in the SEC east??

As the crow flies, Tuscaloosa is only 33 miles west of Nashville...

If we were taking about the Bama teams of the mid 2000's or Auburn from 2012, you folks would be singing a different tune...

It's not about the competition. It's about the competitive balances within the divisions. There wouldn't be any. This scenario is unfair to everyone in the SEC, including those other teams I mentioned. Not just us. It would make the East extremely top heavy while the West would be light. SEC doesn't want this.

This is a "right now" view. So if you want to use the "right now" version, you'd trade the SEC-East Champ for the SEC-West Champ and SEC-West #2 for SEC East #4 team.

Plus this would shut the taters up about how we play in the SEC-Easy division...

Let me couch it to you like this, Would you rather travel to College Station and Columbia, Missouri every other year or Bryant Denny and The Plains?

And even tho he's on my ignore list, I'd really like Thenardier to give his thoughts on this...

Would rather do 16 teams with 4 divisions with a RR rotation each year. Those teams are tradtional powerhouses because of their history, they are usually good teams. UT and UF have potential to surprise everyone this year. The problem with the SEC is that it's at the point of being too big for 2 divisions, and too small for 4 divisions. 9 Conference games should've been added imo.

If transportation was cheaper, and faster I would rather have the divisions like this

BAMA
AU
Ole Miss
MSST
UT
UGA
Vandy

Then

USC
UF
LSU
UK
Mizzou
Arky
TAMU

This takes care of all the rivals, and the two opposing division games can be rotated each year.
