In our first three SEC series when he was healthy (Ole Miss, Kentucky and UT), he batted .432 (16 of 37) and accounted for half of our runs (i.e., he either scored or drove in 21 of our 42 runs over those three series). He can take some bad hacks at times, but he has had good performances against a number of quality teams. Hopefully, he'll be healthy come regional time.

Cone wasn't doing anything before Auburn and he will probably be cold again soon and Pankake will heat up again at some point and make big plays for him. Even if he is not All-American caliber we still need him. And we talking all year about Martin's hair and beard causing him to slump. The team bought a bunny and they started playing better. Baseball is a game of streaks. You always have to keep that in mind eventhough the fans generally don't have the patience to wait for the slumps to end.
In clutch situations, Pankake has not been as $$$ as some of the other guys.. IM NOT SAYING HE IS NOT A GOOD PLAYER, but when the game is on the line... I want GG or Martin up there (over Pankake)

Don't forget that a lot of the hype before he got here was because of his pitching. Even last year, he expected to be able to get back in the pen. For a guy expected to be a two-way pitcher to turn into a staple in the starting line-up in the infield is pleasant surprise.

It's because we have better pitchers. We need hitters.
