Also, Nick O'Leary, 2011, fsu

Some guy named Jay Rome was a top 50 overall in '11 as well, went to uga, and nobody has heard from him since....lol

So where do we sit for TEs in 2 years? I think there would be a lot of room to step right in and contribute.

Anyone think that he could easily come in and play FB too? That blocking is just too good not to think about him leading the way.

He looks pretty fast for being that big. Anyone know how fast he is?

Our TE situation looks kind of like this:

Busta: Could come back this year or take a med-RS if his tricep doesn't heal. I still think no matter what he's 70% to leave after this season.

Adams: If Busta comes back and takes some of the production, Adams may come back next year. If Busta does not come back, Adams will get a lot of the production and we may end up losing both, but Adams would be leaving early.

Owens: He has 2 years left to play, if he doesn't transfer b/w now and then he should be available for the 2015 season.

Rainey: He has 3 seasons left as a rising RS Soph. I would expect him to start challenging for playing time this year and next year.

August: He's a walk-on, we'll see if he develops into a contributor.

No matter how this plays out, it looks like Rainey, August and any TE we bring in this year will be the TE depth going into 2016. So a stud like Nauta will probably come in and work himself at least onto the 2 Deep his FR year.

As far as any TE's contributing as a FB, that will depend on the development of Joe Blue. If Blue comes in and wins the spot early, there won't be a need, but I could also see Rainey as a FB. He could be an awesome FB like DiMarco.

Issac was clocked at 4.59 at a camp in the 40. Here are some stats and highlights.

Default Re: 2016 - Issac Nauta

One of the things that could separate USC from fsu at TE for Nauta is the depth chart.

They already have a commitment from 4 Star JUCO TE, Josh McNeil, for 2015. So he'll be there in 2016 with 3 years to play 2.
fsu is the leader for their Top2 2015 TE targets as well in 4 Star Garrett Williams and 3 Star Jalen Wilkerson.
Last year, fsu took two 4 Star TE's. The one from TX, Marvin Saunders is REALLY good.
In 2012, they got a stud TE as well in 4 Star, Christo Kourtzidis. He was a RS FR last year and will most likely be there in 2016.

If fsu takes 2 TE's this year, they could have four 4 Star TE's in the most recent two recruiting cycles and most of them would already have 2+ years in their system before Nauta got to campus. That's a lot of competition, good for fsu, but that depth chart would have to favor USC for getting a guy who wants to contribute early.

Crosby is an AWESOME athlete, like Rainey. I don't know where we are going to use him yet. He could play TE, FB, OLB, or MLB. We thought Rainey was initially going to be a TE, but then we moved him to LB and now he's back at TE. So I don't want to even speculate that he's going to be a TE yet.

Here are his sophomore highlights.
This guy already plays like a senior.
REally impressed with his blocking at the line of scrimmage.

Needs to sharpen his route running, but he has soft hands, great size, good mobility and his aggressive at the point of a attack.

Whoever gets this guy will get a quality prospect...hope it is us (plus, being from Buford, he knows what it takes to win championships)

I think Rainey caught a deep pass in the Spring game. Looked like a big physical jumbo WR to me. Hope they give him some looks through the air in the fall.

So I noticed Joyner is the #4 player in the country and is from Havelock. We are in his top group, have a teammate committed, and have a pipeline (somewhat) out of his school. What are the chances we get this kid?

We are in a really good position here. We have Bowman playing with him this coming season, so we'll have continued contact. We've been recruiting that HS for years and have established relationships with the coaches there. We're also the closest school out of his Top4. He has family FROM LA, but his immediate family isn't there now. Skai Moore will probably be going Pro after 2015 (if he keeps up and/or improves the production from his 1st season) and our depth chart will be much more favorable than lsu's. I like our chances here.

*Vitals: 6-foot-6, 280 pounds
Pedigree: Father Derrick Little played linebacker for South Carolina before being drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the sixth round.
Crystal Ball: Texas A&M is the early favorite to land Little over Oklahoma.
Timeline events of note: Little has taken spring visits to Texas A&M, Texas Tech and LSU.
Bottom line: A former tight end that has transitioned successfully to offensive tackle, Little is the most complete offensive lineman we’ve seen at this stage in years. He hails from the same school that produced potential first round offensive tackle talent Cedric Ogbuehi, but Little is more advanced at the same stage.

Quote:
*Vitals: 6-foot-5.5, 280 pounds
Five-star pipeline: Five-stars are the norm at McEachern High School. Rochester’s class of 2015 teammates Taj Griffin and Chuma Edoga already hold five-star status in their class.
Crystal Ball: Currently there is one prediction for Auburn on Rochester’s Crystal Ball.
Timeline events of note: Early on, Auburn has the most entries on Rochester’s timeline. He’s been to The Plains on three different occasions including two gameday experiences.
Bottom line: In the mold of a John Henderson-type defensive tackle, Rochester is massive but he is already playing the game at a high level athletically and more importantly plays the game with high effort. Even at 280 pounds, Rochester has a 28.5-inch vertical and is in the low 5-second range in the 40. He’s a freak.
