Expect to win every game we play. That's the mindset you have to have. I can't believe some would be happy with a 9 win season. This is exactly what I'm talking about in saying the culture hasn't changed. Our fans are simply too easily satisfied and content. Gotta change that mindset people. Stop living in the past. Old Carolina is long long gone! It is time to take it to the next level. It's Atlanta or bust. I'm really disappointed in the folks who say otherwise. Top ten rankings are nice, beating Clemson is wonderful, winning bowl games are good, but it's not everything.

Watch out with that kind of progressive thought, they might tell you how good Kenny Hill for A&M will be lol.

As a fan I want to win them all but I can't personally keep my team focused to not fack up against teams we should not lose to.

I have a feeling many of you are going to be disappointed this year. Our defense has too many question marks to get us to Atlanta or a playoff berth. I mean hell, if the team we fielded last season couldn't win the east, what makes you think this one will? I've already made peace with the idea of us losing a few games. (I'm still predicting that 2016 will be the year)

I'm expecting a step back this season, so for me personally, a New Year's Day Bowl (preferably against Iowa) and another win over Clemson, and I'm good.

Senior QB, one of the best OLs we have ever had, a top flight RB, and solid corp of WRs and TEs...and it sounds like the D will be okay...this year is our best shot, because next year looks like it might be a rebuilding year on offense with a new QB, new RB and likely new WRs, TEs and a new Oline (lose Robinson, Shell and Cann).
Mitch will play quite a bit this year along with D. Williams. Wilds may come back to build up his draft stock. Anderson/Adams would need monster years to leave early, IMO. The same goes for Roland. Plus, we'll return Samuel and Cooper. Googer may also get some playing time this year, so that should give up more experience at WR going into next season. I think Shell will come back next season. He has great size and frame, but he still needs work and would need a pretty damn good season before heading off to the NFL. So really, our offense won't be as bad as many thinks.

I just want to make sure I'm hearing you right...Are you saying that unless we win every single game, you wouldn't consider the season successful?

6-6 and a bowl win for Tennessee

Making the SEC title game by sweeping the East and only losing to Auburn, being very competitive in the SEC Title game and being selected for one of the major bowls outside the playoff for SC.

Beating the $HIT out of Auburn. Winning the East and then win the Confrenece by beating Bama. Finally top it off with us beating Spurrier's buddy Stoops for the title. Icing on the cake would be MD28 carrying home the Heisman.

Anything less would be uncivilized.

I think Tenn goes 7-5 beating Florida at home and a win over either Mizzou or Ole Miss.

11-1 regular season, SEC east, SEC title, and a NT to top it off. OK, I have high expectations but it's doable.

This would make me one happy Vol and while I think it is possible, I only think we need to get 6 wins to have a "successful season".

I would say considering the fact that we lost so many starters on defense, another 11-2 season would be a success. I want more so bad I can't stand it.
I love the fact that we get Georgia in Columbia this year and the Auburn game on the road is looking to be the most difficult. The good thing is, if we take care of business in the East it won't matter if we lose to Auburn. I feel if things align just right, this could be the year for Carolina.

I got flamed for calling last season a disappointment saying 11 wins and no championships was unacceptable. Beating Clem5on now is expected we don't measure our success by just beating them by double digits for 5 years straight, we beat them and move on. Unless that bowl game is one of the Classic 6 Bowls they don't mean anything other than another win against a team we should beat. The fans need to accept the Bama mentality National Title or bust not just accept 11-2 win no trip to Atlanta or Classic 6 Bowl wins.

Bumping a slightly old thread, but after week 1, winning 8 games would be a successful season.
