Good crowd for volleyball opener .
Over 1700 . Great turnout by the students . USC beat Gardner-Webb 3-0 . At the end of the short video below you can see Gamecock Jesus and his group doing a little cheerleading .

Students are doing a great job with soccer and volleyball so far. Not many left until late at football either.

Two more wins on Saturday , vs Jacksonville & Georgia Tech . Against Georgia Tech we played most of the match without one of our better players , Darian Dozier , who evidently wasn't feeling well . Her replacement , Elizabeth Johnbull, did a good job . Tech held Taylr McNeil to a .143 hitting pct. , but Koko Atoa-Williams and Sarah Blomgren both hit over .300 . If we continue to get that kind of balance we have a chance to be a decent team .
Clemson is next , in a tournament at Winthop . Should be a great match . Too bad it's in Rock Hill at 4pm on Friday . I was hoping that after Ben Somera left we could go back to always having the Clemson-USC match in either Columbia or Clemson . Evidently not . Hope they have more than the 200 people that were there last time they played in Rock Hill . |

If you can't make it out there (and hopefully you can, as it appears the VCF has been was rocking for the Gamecock Invitational, the Carolina Classic will be on SEC Network+ online.
 Matches are against Norfolk State (Friday at 10 am), Eastern Kentucky (Friday at 7 pm) and The Citadel (Saturday at 3 pm)

Nope. No SEC+ for DirecTv
 I've written to them about it and they of course assure us they're working on bringing it to their loyal customers. I replied that virtually every other provider has it so I've got plenty of choices to take my business elsewhere. Giving them until the end of the month.

I am glad that the girls are doing well. I feared that losing Juliette Thévenin would be a big hit to the team but it looks like they are playing well. I think this is a make or break year for Scott Swanson.

The VCF gets EXTREMELY loud during games. With the band, really loud PA, and 1000+ fans with a low metal roof, it can really rock in there

Very entertaining match last night vs Eastern Kentucky , with USC pulling out a 5 set win . The two teams finished dead even in digs and assists , and the Gamecocks held a one block lead in total blocks . Lots of long rallies throughout the match , but USC dominated the last two sets .
