If u go back and watch the game as well, their Qb hardly ever had to go through his progression because is first or second read was wide ass open. That is a very serious problem for us
I think it was hard for us using 5'10" DB's trying to jam their 6'4" WR....and did you see how well their WR blocked on the outside....it was textbook......compare that to our poor WR blocking. Having small WR hurts us on those type of screen plays.

Our defense did nothing right until they(a&m) went somewhat conservative. Then we scored and they went back to playing. Our little WRs are usually great for us but I see how it hurts us out there too.

Want a job? lol We can not abandon our strength against that type of team no question.

Our strength is our lb core and more equipped stopping offenses like Georgia or bama, downhill running teams. I think we will beat ecu because of the talent differences alone, but this defense needs to get something figured out because at the end of the year we face another offense just as good as the team we saw last night. If we had the recruits come in last year as we do this year it would of been a whole different ball game last night. Those recruits not making it in hurt us worse then I thought it would.
Seasoned vets? Not quite... Their d line got pressure and it made it easier on the secondary.

That's the formula we've used to beating Clemson (who runs a similar offense) 5 years running.

That's the formula we've used to win 11 games 3 years running.

That's the formula we've used to win 18 straight at WB.

It seems like every time SOS dumps that formula and reverts to the chuck and duck offense the wheels come off.

A good example was the Tenn game from last year.

Compared to what our db's looked like theirs looked like all pros. Why n the hell did we give them a 10 yard cushion all night just about when they only attempted 4 passes beyond 10 yards??

We need Damon Arnette here now. His size is what we lack.

And Kyle Davis, the 2016 kid, is the type of WR we need to be getting frequently.

because whammy said he didn't want their WR to beat us deep.....well, he got what he asked for....they didn't beat us deep.....I will say, their play calling and schemes were very close to an NFL offense.....those guys were good.

This is my biggest gripe as well. I can only think it is because we didn't want
to get burned long?

Just wanted to point out that CU definitely doesn't run a similar offense to A&M. They're both spread teams, but A&M is an air-raid offense while CU is much more balanced in normal situations. Of A&M's 99 plays, 60 were passes, and if they hadn't been up so much, they wouldn't have run it as much as they did.

But the overall point of your post is correct.
