It is imperative we get a top back in 2016... Hope we don't flub it.

Getting Bradrick Shaw next year would be nice. I do like Mon Denson's size/speed combo though. I'm not sold though in AJ Turner at running back.

Maybe he should talk to Hampton and them about leaving early.

mike's 2nd and 3rd starts last season were back to back weeks of 20 touches. then we had a bye then he had a stretch of 5 straight weeks where the fewest amount of touches he had was 22.

Deja vu? This is the second year in a row we've had a preseason Heisman hopeful suddenly seem uninspired, easily injured, take himself out of a game. Weird.

Wilds is a beast. I wish people would get off MD's jock and start appreciating what Wilds has done, and will continue to do, for our program. He has never been the #1, yet showed up for practice every day, put his nose to the grind and performs every time he's given the opportunity.

Give the man an inch and he gets you three yards, every time. That's my kind of back.

Feed the Beast!

A quick look a the stats shows Wilds had 9 carries for 45 yards on Thursday night, a 5.0 yard average. Last year he average 5.1 yards per carry. In 2011 he averaged 4.5 He certainly isn't the home run threat Davis is, but a back who can average 4.5-5 yards per carry is a valuable asset.

It won't matter. Davis already wanted to leave when he wasn't the feature back to begin with and with the preseason hype of being a projected top RB draft pick he certainly isn't going to be motivated to play dinged and risk his chance at the next level. Hampton has plenty of examples to look at and tell he wasn't ready either but it still didn't stop him. Some guys come to college because they want to represent a school and win games and others just want an opportunity to showcase themselves and spend as little time as possible auditioning for the NFL.

Let him take a week off and get better to be ready for Georgia. This needs to be a game where Wilds and David Williams get about 20 carries each. Let's see what we have in Williams. The guy is big, strong and fast. Use the guy already! Also, if Davis is going to take a few weeks to heal up, then we need to get Williams some game time now.

Nothing wrong with that at all.

Some players treat major university's as trade schools with the trade being the professional levels.

They know full and well that the ultimate would be a job in the NFL, NBA, MLB etc. HOWEVER, there are still jobs to be had in canada, europe and riding the buses around America for a few hundred thousand dollars a year.

Can you still get your degree earning that type of money? Sure, and you can go to school online or even go to school in your off seasons.

And if school is not your thing but you believe you are good enough to play in the leagues, there is nothing to say you cannot develop your skill level in the mid majors and deelopmental leagues - it is a harder route for sure but it is possible.

Starting in the Major leagues is great and the ultimate top of what these athletes want to do but we are stupid to act like that is their only option outside of college.

You all mention Victor Hampton as a cautionary tale of players leaving early but has it ever crossed your minds that the only reason he went to college is to play ball? Has it occured to you that he can still end up on an NFL team, or a Canadian League team, or an NFL Europe team etc?

Oh and **** us for doubting the injuries and effort of these players just because we are butthurt over losses. We love to act like we give a damn about these players but we do not care about them at all.

And guess what? THAT IS TOTALLY FINE TOO. Isn't it ironic and hypocritical though that we ask these men and women to give their all for love of school and academia yet we want to bench them or throw them out of school the moment they throw an interception, or limp off the field (remember the criticism of Connor Shaw last year? - yeah you probably don't now), or decide to test the professional leagues.

These players do not owe us, the fans, anything. They are here for different reasons and we benefit from them being on the roster.

People were calling for Victor Hampton to be bench last year and said that he could not guard a salad bar - now yall wish he was back and say he should have never left?

I have to say I disagree about them not owing anything. Without the fans they would be paying for their own way, the least they can do is pretend to be in it for the school. ..

I don't care why the kids come to school but if they don't want to play and risk "injury" go to the CFL and don't waste a scholarship.

If Hampton does end up in NFL Europe it will be awesome considering it folded about 5 years ago.
