I think Ty will play at the next level and probably Lele, too. She has the physical tools, but needs experience.

Just heard Coach Tanner passingly say high ankle sprain in relation to A’ja’s injury at today’s football coaches’ pay raises press conferences. Not good if he’s speaking with full knowledge of the situation.

Cloninger asking for clarification after the pc ended, Tanner responded he made it up. Hopefully that’s the case.

I have no doubt that Ty will. Like you said, Lele has the skills but, like many bigs, needs some seasoning. I think Bianca Jackson also has a shot. As a freshman, she's averaging 6.3 and 3.7 rpg, has 38 assts to 18 TO's, is shooting 39% from 3 pt, and is third on the team in steals. She's getting more comfortable now that she's been starting and playing more and seems to be getting more confident.

I could be wrong, because I'm not a doctor and don't even play one on TV, but I think "high" ankle sprains more refer to FB sprains, where bodies fall into lower legs causing the sprains. It can also often happen in basketball too, such as when players dive on the floor for loose balls and land or roll on top of each other.

A rolled ankle from stepping on another player's foot, like what happened with A'ja, is more of the typical ankle sprain. But again I just pulled all of this out of my rear, so I could be wrong.....

We are at the point where the regular season does not mean as much. We might miss out on the SEC title due to injuries (and some questionable officiating at Mizzou), but the tournament is the thing. What is critical is getting everyone healthy and providing experience for the younger players.

We need Spann and Wilson 100%, we need to get more experience for Bianca and Lele, and it would be nice to get Tea cleared and in the flow. That would give us another team that can tun the table.

I agree with most of this, except that winning every regular season SEC game possible is critical for seeding in the SEC tournament. We still need to win enough games to be seeded in the top 4; otherwise, we could have to play extra games while other teams rest.

Winning our conference tournament is important to me........
