There were improvements but I think the long season wore us down. We got out rebounded all over the place the last 3 weeks of the season. We need a true point guard and someone else to step up besides Silva. We are still a young ball club and I admit it takes a while to learn Franks system. But I believe we will be better next year.
We are a tournament team with or without Bowen. Minaya plays the same position and played it well this year for "someone who should have been a Senior in High School".

Our problem was PG. Rah gives us a true PG and Gravett will be better next year. I thought Gravett actually played better down the stretch, so did Kotsar. Players get better from season to season under Frank - what killed us this year was having 8 new guys in the system.

And Holden could still return - the door was left open. Add in another recruit or two, and this will be a very very deep - and talented team. And one with more experience.

Next season is Holden or bust. If Frank thought we had the pieces necessary, he wouldnt have taken a chance on the damaged goods.

We need more two-way/multi-dimensional players and less specialists. Go out and find as many Notice's, Thornwell's and Pullen's as you can find. Players in that mold will get this program back on the right path
MInaya fits that mold, for sure.

We got a whole offseason Id rather survey all options than make a quick decision on taking a player.

I have very high hopes for Hasse moving forward....I really think he's gonna break out by the end of next year. He just needs to realize how big he is.
He reminds me of Chat's early years that way.

i hope so but he plays a position that requires footspeed in addition to finesse. i really like him but think he may be one level too high. i think he would be a good fit for a davidson or richmond.

I think he's the biggest bright spot for this team next year. Silva is what he is at this point. He's always going to have foul issues and he's going to miss some layups. Kotsar has potential but he needs to make some major strides this offseason. I feel like Minaya is right on the cusp of being a good player next year and a great one after that.

Again, I hate it that Booker's gone.

I like Hasse also. He does need to play inside more. He likes to hang out on the perimeter too much. With his size he can become a very good player inside and still step outside for some shots also. Hasse and Kotsar have tremendous potential and I think both have a great chance of being great players at USC along with Minaya.

I disagree...I don't think Silva has hit his skills or BB IQ ceiling yet.

Agreed, he can definitely clean up his turnovers and work more on his range to make him more NBA ready.

Silva has improved every year he's been here and cut down on his fouls per 40 each year. He went per 40 minutes from 9.4 as a freshman to 7.3 as a sophomore to 5.4 as a junior. His PPG have gone up at least 4 PPG each season and rebounds at least 1.6 RPG. If you factor in that rate of improvement you're looking at a guy averaging 18.3 PPG 9.6 RPG and under 4 fouls/40. That's not just a good player, that's SEC POY numbers. So if he improves at the same rate he has we may have the best player in the conference next year.
