Culliver out for Arkansas

Spurrier says he is out this week. Says its his shoulder but it sounds like there is more to it.

Culliver was hurt pregame .. Matthews the first couple series in I believe .. and King suffered a concussion during the game.

i read that he sat out Monday because of the concussion. i think it was during the game.

Yeah, they took him to the hospital over the weekend, per SOS's press conference.

Thats what it sounded like to me. Like there might be an internal discipline issue that is also being taken care of. Could be wrong but thats what is sounded like

Also...the way Spurrier put it is Culliver played with that hurt shoulder without telling anyone that he was hurt...Spurrier said he and the coaching staff was embarassed and i think a lot of him not playing this Saturday is because of what he did, but also because he is hurt

Matthews was hurt in the second half. Land weird and a guy fell on top of him. I hate losing CM, but Taylor can hopefully shine again like NCST. King is not a huge loss, only because we keep flipping OL around. CC hurts, but having AA in his spot could help this week

I am pretty sure it was in the second quarter...might have been on the drive that Garcia fumbled on (but you may be right). Not that it matters since he is hurt none the less...

as for CC, if how he played at UT is how he plays when he is hurt, he needs to fully recover before playing again. I hate to say it, but he was a liability

Culliver is great in coverage.. maybe the best we have at that position. But! a Free Safties foremost job is to make the tackle in the second level and prevent the big play. Sometimes players think playing through injury shows you are tough and will help the team, but if due to your injury you are not as good as the backup - you need to get out of there.

I hope Culliver takes this more than likely discipline as a positive and really comes back strong.

he's been good in coverage, but he seems to bite on play fakes. that FB touchdown last week was him biting on the play fake and letting the FB go right past him up the field.

just saying. our defensive backs need to be a little less aggressive, play your assignment and be patient.

Luckily for us Auguste can play the position .. Depth behind him hurts because I think Jarrett Burns is out as well ..

Gilmore, Auguste, Holloman, and Whitlock is still a solid (but VERY young) secondary .. That is actually a glimpse of the future..
