Colby Holmes named tonights starter

He gets his second chance at the Razorbacks. If he keeps the ball down like Monty did tonight he'll be just fine. The two runs they score a couple nights ago were on basehits that came from his pitches being up in the zone. One was a hanging slider, not sure about the other.

He'll be fine. Gotta jump on them early.

I was kind of hoping for Koumas or Webb, maybe even Price if he hadn't closed out the 9th for Montgomery. Webb pitched great against Arky having come in for Holmes.

Price could still open in theory, but Holmes is the best bet. Hey, if he sucks tomorrow it's not like we don't have 5 or 6 others who can't get it done.

Yeah, I'm just afraid of the mental boost it could give the piggies: "Hey, we beat this guy last time jumping on him early and we can do it again" sort of thought they could have. Although Montgomery was the one they beat earlier in the year and he handled them well last night, so I guess there's that way of thinking too...

Hey, the Hogs were in a good spot. They knew we'd be back and honestly, they are gonna have to be on their A game to get us out of the CWS. I wish luck to both. Oh yeah, I want to buy Tanner English lessons from Christian Walker at hitting please.

Kolby pitched great in the first game, the only rings were on what by all accounts . a fielding error by English. Also we started getting the bats going in the last two games, and have the full battery in the pen as fallback. Very optimistic position to be in.

Holmes faced 17 batters only threw 53 pitches in 3.2 Innings before he was yanked, so he will be fine. Just got to throw strikes and KEEP THE BALL DOWN

Ray loves this situation, we were facing elimination for two straight games, we won two games in one day to place Arky on the ropes, now THEY are facing elimination!!! momentum shift to the COCKS big time!!!

with only one win away from the title round, Tanner will pull out all the stops, not really sure, how many days between tonights game and the finals? at any rate, all pichers will be on a short leash, it's win or go home baby!!!

For real Man? They scored 2 runs on him. What if it motivates Holmes? Holmes pitched a gem in that game we just left to many runners on. He is CLEARLY our best option. Koumas, really?????

Yeah, for all the talk about what Holmes did or didn't do on the mound in Monday's game, it was really the offense that lost the game. The first inning should have been very different.

Colby did not give up runs on a Tanner English error. That was the Florida game and Roth gave up those runs. Colby Holmes gave up two runs in different innings. Both of the runs that came around to score were originally walked to first base... sacrificed over, and then 2-2 out hits, if I'm not mistaken. Ultimately, he just doesn't need to keep walking the leadoff guy and we would have been in good shape in the first game.

Just win. I was more worried about the doubleheader, hot weather, freshman pitcher, blah, blah, blah, yesterday, but now the pressure is firmly on Arkansas.
This will be a classic, and may the best team win, and may the umps not be a factor in that. I would rather Arky win it all, if we can't, because they came into the league the same time that we did, and they're in the SEC.
I'm not worried about Holmes at all; I think he'll do geat.

I'm fine with starting Holmes but for the people saying he did a great job last game, he got yanked pretty early. I think he wil be better tonight. I predict we see Webb and Price close it out though.
