A TALE OF TWO CITIES

I have been blogging about SC Football for about five years now, and can honestly say that these are the best times that I can remember. I began writing THE TALE OF TWO CITIES blog articles back in 2010, and have felt that the "rivalry" is as good as any in the country. Until recently I lived within eye shot (or sore) of Death Valley, but held true to my Carolina roots. Bashing taters and talking smack was one of the highlights of living in Seneca just across the bridge from Clemsux....

Just watching the changes in attitude and the mindset of both fanbases has made one thing clear, SOUTH CAROLINA FOOTBALL IS BACK TO STAY!!!

It seems like every week someone else comes on here saying they are blogging about SC haha.. feels like one of those Nigerian email things (google it if you do not understand)

I have had a SC football blog for almost six years, just under different domains. I am not some johnny come lately; my wife is alumni, her brother is a current student, four members of our extended family are Alumni, a close family friend of ours is on the BOT and we give money each year to the University.

I respect your comment, because even though I joined Cockytalk in May, and have been visiting the site since 2007, I just didnt comment or post. I have read three or four posts from people who say they are blogging/writing about SC Football. None of my posts in the last five years have derived from CT or anywhere else. My website is strictly a fan site with @20K regular followers, quite a few paying advertisers and I know personally former football players who frequent the site. I have spent alot of time, money and research in trying to make my website the best I can, as I do everything myself. I am not looking for atta-boys or any kind of cheap notoriety, I am a Gamecock, and have been since i was taken from my mothers womb.

NOW THAT I HAVE SAID THAT, I HOPE YOU VISIT MY WEBSITE..

I am just trying to make my voice heard (just as anyone else on any message board, website or blog does) and relay my thoughts, stories, opinions and anecdotes to anyone who would like to read them.

I have family from Nigeria! I am insulted by that! Not all Nigerians should be punished because of this!

A few points of constructive criticism: You may want to update the look of the page. It looks like a very standard pre-made blog layout; very amateur, average, and a bit boring to look at. You may want to offer something that you can't get elsewhere, if you'd like your blog to be popular. Right now the only information you seem to offer is information that is available elsewhere, and was available before you commented on it. If Gamecocks news is broken on other websites first and discussed there, why would people visit a separate site just to read your personal comments? If you had insider access to the program, or information not available on the main Gamecocks sites, you would have something to offer that would build a user base. If all you have is the same information as everyone else, there are already hundreds of similar blogs, and yours would just be lost among the rabble.

Good luck, however. I suppose you never know if you don't try. Be forewarned, however, that you should simply link to your blog in your signature, as constantly just posting threads that are copies of and links to your own blog will be seen as advertising, and that's frowned upon.
