Kobe didnt play against any of those guys when they were in their prime...every Olympics i hear this same stupid stuff from supporters of the new team or from the team itself...the fact is they all want to be as good as the dream team, and that is admirable and fine by me, but let your play in the games prove what you can do...the fact is virtually everygame the dream team played was over at halftime...the majority (all but 2 or 3) of the members of the dream team would make many lists of the best 100 NBA players of all time...

Laettner would make many all-college lists which is why he was selected

many of the players on this years team won't be remembered or shown on highlight reels 10 years from now...if they can take car of business at the Olympics, then they can get drunk and make stupid claims that they know aren't true, but until they win gold there is nothing to talk about...Kobe will always be butthurt because he can't get everyone to say he is better then Jordan and this is just another way for him to try and overcome that insecurity

Yeah a team lead by Bobby Hurley, Grant Hill, C-Webb and Juwan Howard. They lost by 8 and the game was supposedly thrown by Chuck Daly to fire them up more. They replayed the scrimmage a few days later and the Dream Team won by 40.

Could you image if you put Jordan in his prime up against Kobe or D Wade in their prime.. what a freaking match up that would be. All in all, I think the original dream team will probably be the best team ever assembled. In the 1992 Barcelona Olympics that team's smallest margin of victory was 41 points and their lowest output of points was 105. Truly remarkable play.

Yeah, the game was purposely thrown by Daily. He wouldn't let them run any set offense, called wrong defenses on purpose, and barely played Jordan at all. He wanted to prove a point, and it took a lot to make them lose.

Your matchups aren't very accurate. For instance it would be Pippen vs Durant and Mullin vs Carmelo and Drexler vs Harden. Plus you have to remember that Dwight Howard, Derrick Rose, Dwayne Wade are all injured for this go around. Matchups would be very close but the nod going to the original dream team.

offensively, I say both teams can score effectively.

defensively, this isn't even close. Dream Team interior D would thwart most shots in the lane. 2012 would need turnovers and transition play. I just don't see the Dream Team turning the ball over very much.

Even rebounding I think Dream Team has the advantage, since the only guy on the current roster that can box out correctly is Love. Bird even in 1992 could box out Griffin or Chandler with ease.

This was just a rough outline going off of the rosters. Pippen would def. guard Durant. I think Williams and Westbrook will be on the court together before Harden.
