No, I'm not in trouble, no one is sick (on my side), and I don't need bail money.

I have an opportunity to speak at a conference in Hawaii in December, but I need your help. The conference organizers are having people vote on the sessions they'd like to see, and that's where I'm hoping Gamecock Nation will step in.

If you have a moment, would you go to this link: http://surveymonkey.com/s/cssdevconf and vote for my session "Is Flexbox the Future of Layout?" The order is random each time or I'd let you know which number it is. Just be sure to click the button for "Extremely Likely" underneath it. You can just randomly click interest in the others, or if you're big on web design, vote for what you'd like.

On the last page, vote for me by name "James Williamson, lynda.com"

If I get enough votes my session will be picked, and I'll get another free trip to Hawaii.

For the record, it's NOT the future of CSS-based layout, even though it's being touted as such.

For 2-D layouts that require source-independent element shifting and widths based on ratios rather than specific values, it's the shit. Also, because you can set any element (and their children) to flex boxes, you can use Flexbox within the structure of other layouts.

It's does have deficiencies, however. Once nesting orders get deeper, it becomes harder to keep track of (and control) ratio values and element relationships. The Cascade can make this even more difficult.

As for "Smack that CSS", that guy's a hack.
