Final 2012 SEC Predictions

Crunching numbers has never been my thing. There are no complicated equations floating around in my head that give me the magic formula for predicting how the season will turn out.....

After some deep research, there are a few teams that will realize just how tough the SEC is..

I would take that one loss any day if the season turned out like that for us. I still want to win them all tho, call me selfish I guess lol

Hopefully that comes true. The scary thing about all these close wins they are predicting, is how reliable is the kicking game this season? In order to win a lot of close game you need clutch kicking.

This is TOTALLY speculative and sounds dumb as I read it back to myself (not your comment, my following statement), but a friend who went to a few practices told me he saw the special teams practicing 2-pointers and several fake FG's one day..

Honestly, if it were me and I were coach, I would go for "2" every series and make teams stop us...

We will win it all. We will win the East, win the SEC, then beat the fake USC in the MNC game. There.

A couple of observations on the SEC. Dan Mullen should have taken the Florida job when it was offered to him. Alabama will beat Michigan in Week 1. I think Carolina will beat Georgia in Game 6. Georgia will win the rest of their games in the SEC. Carolina will struggle against every passing team they face (Arkansas, Georgia and Clemson). Just my two cents.

Not bad predictions here. I think you overestimate Vandy a lot and Missour a bit.

I also could be wrong though.

I guess you have us losing to UF, @UGA, Bama, @SC and Missouri? I agree that would probably have Dooley losing his job.

Although its hard to predict what will happen week to week within the SEC schedule itself, the major glaring fault I see is Bama losing to Michigan in week 1. Yeah, just don't see that happening. If it does I guess I'll have to eat my words.

It will be a tough game...Michigan has a great offense and Bama will be adding a ton of new faces to that complex D.

I think Bama could have 2 losses by the end of week three. Probably only one but it could happen.

well, the winning team in the SEC CG averages 34.2 PPG. Given that, and the fact that I predict OT, it would take something like that to win. The last three years the winner has scored 42, 56 and 32 which means to beat them you had to score a ton. I don't think scoring will be an issue for us this year, it will be stopping passing teams from scoring. So we need to score early, often, late and last..

Honestly, I am taking the points. I think Michigan might just be there in the end at BCS NCG or close to it, though I might be wrong, But Michigan is ranked 8th in preseason which is close enough to the top to get there, and far enough away from the bottom to not fall far if a few losses occur...

I just don't see it. Every year a certain Big 10/12/Pac 12 team gets hyped up beyond reasonable expectation and ends up getting crushed by a SEC school they play. Now, I'm not saying Michigan isn't good, because I believe they will have a pretty good team, but even though Bama is young, they will still be a dominant force in this football team and Saban will have them ready to go.

We are going to beat LSU but lose to someone we shouldn't, like Tenn, Florida, or Arky thus ending the year 11-1, win the SEC and I dare not dream any further.

The two spots I don't tend to agree on are UGA and Vandy.....I think UGA will only drop 2 at the most and Vandy will not win against both Florida and Auburn......They might steal one but def not both! And no way Bama loses to Michigan......I could be wrong but just my opinion.

What a farce. LSU goes undefeated in SEC play, but loses to a non-conference? SPUAT is not losing to Michigan. Texas A&M finishes above Auburn? In what universe? Vandy is not beating both Florida and Auburn, they'll probably lose both, or at least one.

I've seen this same prediction with the exception of the Vandy praise elsewhere. I forget where, but it's out there.

We have the pieces in place. If all goes well, this will be an exciting season to be a Gamecock. Rational thinking has me KNOWING we CAN win every game, but thinking that we'll lose 2-4 games this season with a more likely 3 loss season. I think it is AWESOME that the thought of losing three is nearly unacceptable thought these days. What a difference a few years makes!

That said, Go Cocks - win every damn one of them!

Why would Ole Miss fire Hugh Freeze after 1 year? And why would Dan Mullen leave for a WAC School. The WAC won't even be a football conference in 2013.
