There is a baseball press conference at 3:15 p.m. today. The announcement will be to name Brian Buscher as volunteer assistant.

Well maybe "on the staff" was the wrong wording to use. It gets confusing since they're all volunteers assistants and graduate assistants. However, I'm pretty sure both Buscher and Meyer were with the team last year.

Grad - Meyer
whatever - Buscher


This year:
HC- Holbrook
AC- Meyer

Buscher was student assistant in 2011 . He was not on the staff this past season . Drew Meyer was student assistant in 2012 and will be again this year . This will be the first time they have coached together, although they did play together back in 2002 .
Buscher coached at Heathwood Hall this past season and then coached the Blowfish during the summer . Because of the number of USC players on the Blowfish, USC had to wait until the Blowfish season was over to hire him .

I saw Buscher in the dug out in several games this past season. I even saw his wife and kid on the field after one of the games. He may not have been "on staff" this past year, but he was in the dugout "with the team". Because he wasn't "on staff" he had to do something to make money, hence the Heathwood Hall gig.
