Swearinger named National Defensive Player of the Week

Columbia, SC (WLTX) -- Gamecock defensive back D.J. Swearinger receives top honors for the win over Arkansas. Swearinger has been named "Defensive Player of the Week" by the Walter Camp Football Foundation The Greenwood native achieved a career-best 13 tackles against the Arkansas Razorbacks. Swearinger also had an interception he returned 69 yards for a touchdown. Grown ass man football from him the last few games.
As for the "penalty" he got for throwing the football into the stands, I'd have found the ref that called that rediculous personal foul on the play prior to the INT, and threw it in his face !! ...I'm sure our coaches never gave it another thought when he launched the ball into the stands. Mr Swearinger is going to a bigtime player at the next level !!
