Ive been looking for a good while for a job! If anybody knows about a job opening or application requests then PLEASE let me know. I'm struggling to pay my bills and things are just downright pitiful without a job.

Im 24, bachelors in business and have experience as a production operator. I dont care about circumstances or how hard the work is. I just want to work!

If there's any Cockytalk brethren that may have any info, please share and thank you VERY MUCH!!!

Where in South Carolina are you?

Have you tried looking for work outside of your area or even outside the state? I've had friends who are recent grads who had no luck locally but had to make the sacrifice of moving away to find a job.

Go to the SC State Employment website. Their site compiles postings from multiple sources. Also, Careerbuilder does a great job of compiling from multiple sources.

Then basically just carpetbomb places with your resume/ application.

Im located in Aiken,SC. Ive applied to places like Boeing in Charleston and some plants in Greenville with no luck thus far. This ish is really depressing!

Story of my life the last 6 months!!!!!!

I was so desperate that I even accepted one of the temp positions available, worked my ass off in 110 degrees no air conditioning in a plant. They told me for 7 months that they would hire me permanently and never did.

Just kidding, I actually like Aiken, it is the surrounding area that is sketchy as hell.

As RG was saying, there are always sales jobs available, especially to make some cash while trying to find a job to fit your degree.

Haha, almost clicked the link. Aiken is a beautiful city in many area. But just like every city there are those spots that are certainly sketchy.

Ive been to SMS sportsworld, Verizon, ATT and some others and all say they wont be hiring until after the year is over.

Have you tried Bosch here in Charleston? A good friend of mine got on with them, had to do the nights/weekends thing while he went through their training program, but he is pretty much set for life now. May not be the most glamorous job, but it's an idea.

I recommend going to a new car dealership.

1. They always have a draw so you can survive
2. You can sell a car or two first day
3. You have a scheduled day off during the week to put in applications in other places (if you decide to)


Used cars make the greatest commissions & there is a learning curve but seriously, fairly easy money.

I sold Nissans but made plenty of dough. My manager was a pretty awesome dude so the job was pretty fun most of the time.
