Would someone please explain ......
how the new college football playoff system is supposed to work? It appears that 6 games have been selected by the conference commissioners for the playoffs.
I thought only 4 teams made it in and then the final 2 played for the NC. That would only be 3 games. Are the other 3 games "just for fun?" Are there more than 4 teams in the actual playoffs? This is pissing me off. Thanks in advance.

there will be 6 sites hosting the semi-final games and then the national championship is bid out.
there are only 2 semi finals games, so the 2 sites per year that host semi-final games will rotate year to year. the 4 sites of those 6 that will not be hosting semi-final games will be hosting the equivalent of bcs bowl games now
