This will go to Jones or Te'o.
Hoping Clowney gets it next season. Kudos to JD for being a finalist though. |

Looks like Te'O is gonna grab it due to his coach being a guest speaker. It only makes sense.

In my opinion, if Clowney can't win it, I don't mind seeing the guy from Notre Dame win. He's a classy guy with a touching story

The "media loves ND", and the rest of America hates them and thinks every single player that plays for them is overhyped. He's made some HUGE plays at HUGE moments in numerous games this season that's kept ND undefeated. Put down the haterade people and open your eyes. |

Clowney will have his say in winning this award vs Clemson. If te'o doesn't lead his team past USC it could be a close rase.

I don't think any other defensive player in the nation has a bigger impact on an offense in key plays and game planning than Clowney. |

Te'o will probably win, but forget stats and wins. Who would you rather have on your team? The answer is Clowney

From what I've seen, Clowney disrupts offenses and offensive gameplans more than any other player in the nation. Offenses have two choices- either gameplan totally around him, or let him disrupt your offense on every single play. The ND player is a great player and makes plays, but Clowney has an overall larger impact versus offenses and is a more disruptive force. Clowney has definitely done for us what Te'O has done and more- not statistically, but overall effecting the game. However, this award is certainly about stats and Te'O is older, plays for ND, and is undefeated so he will probably win it. Clowney is the most disruptive defensive force in the nation and completely elevates what our entire defense is capable of.

He does seem to open things up for others and cause if not true qb hurries, the qb to go faster and cut off progressions, but you can't ignore numbers either. |

If one of the criteria was fear factor, Clowney would win easily!
Just post pics of the QB's eyes when they see JC coming! LOL
