Will Clemson ever join the SEC?

1. Do you think Clemson will ever join the SEC?

I don't see it ever happening.

Conference expansion is purely about $$$ these days. SEC (like everyone else) will want to bring in new media markets, and Clemson would not be new media market.

The only eastern schools I could see joining are NC State and Virginia Tech.

Plus, I don't think USC would stand for Clemson joining this conference.

Well first they have to get an offer to join and for that to happen they have to be wanted by the SEC which they are not.

It will never happen....Why....South Carolina has a vote in the matter of expansion...It takes only, 1 no vote,to take the team asking for entry off the table...And the University of South Carolina would never vote them in...Especially after what klempzun pulled back when we BOTH were suppose to leave the acc at the same time...

I could see the SC legislature, with Haley leading, forcing USC to vote yes to Clemson joining. Similar to when UVA had to vote in Va Tech.

Are there enough clemson legislators to force it through? I doubt it. Besides, other SEC schools don't want Clemson in either. They offer nothing.

They were not extended an offer when the league went to 12 because they were part of the ACC, and the SEC wanted to expand with 2 teams that wouldn't constitute 'raiding' another conference. Arky was coming out of the SWC which fell apart due to the SMU scandal, and obviously we were not 'married' to a conference...

Legislatures should be concerned with real problems, not college athletic conference alignment.

GamecockAlan while that is true Usc, Georgia, Florida, and Tenn all have a gentleman's agreement to not vote in their rival from my understanding.

Which means no GA tech, Florida ST, Clemson, or louisville
and as others have said Clemson brings nothing new.

...I asked about this also ....The way it is explained to me is ....if a member of the conference doesnt want them in it is not going to happen....ei...fsu....they had enough votes to get in but Flawda was not having any of it.....The invite was squashed completely and never discussed again....Same with Louisville....KY said hell no the SEC said done..UL dont get in...
