Welp! I'm thankful for what he did here, but I don't know if we have room for him back here. He should have stayed with the Gamecocks. I'm sure that buyout was good so I'm not super sad for him. I just hope he can land on his feet somewhere else.

i don't...he thought the grass was greener when there was great potential for the future here...it is interesting to me how all these coaches who have left us the past few years haven't found the grass to be nearly as green as they once thought

I think he made poor choices for assistants. It was like he was returning the favor for anyone who had given him a job in the last 25 years. I bet he ends up as DC at GaTech.

He's a good D coach and has tons of respect in the south. With the Auburn, Arky, UT, UK, NCST programs all to have new staffs soon, I'll bet we see him get picked up quickly as a DC or D position coach.

While I am sorry that he got fired. I truly hate that. However, it did piss me off when he ditched his defensive players here just before the bowl game last year. I felt he disrespected them. Although, things have worked out just fine for SC since, and I have to say that I like the more aggressive Whammy approach.
