just saw on the local station here, Phil Kornblut is reporting Marcus will declare for the draft, said PK has talked to multiple coaches on the USC staff and they said ML is most likely gone.
i believe he may weigh his options, i just dont believe a team will take him right now.

SportsTalk @sportstalksc Rumblings that USC does not expect Marcus Lattimore to return. They expect him to enter the NFL draft and make his comeback there. starting up on twitter now.

I think a team would definitely take him right now, and if going to the NFL is the best decision for Lattimore, I support it completely. Thanks to him, we now have running backs that are very talented who have already come to South Carolina and are currently on the team, or are showing deep interest in being a part of what's happening in Columbia. When people say they are grateful for all that Marcus has done for the football program, they mostly mean his on-field accomplishments, but those, along with his incredible persona, have the carryover effect of sparking interest, and that has definitely happened.

That would be my advice. He'll be missed and we will always think what might have been. Feel like he left with so much more to do. It's a shame.

Good for Latti. He's done more for this school than anyone could ask for. He deserves a paycheck now!

If this is true, I wish him the best of luck and will continue to root for him in the NFL!
I selfishly hope it's not though. |

Gotta say that I'd love to see him back; however, this is probably a smart move for him. Shelf life for NFL running backs is limited as is, so he might as well make a come back there and try to maximize the amount of money he can earn as a professional football player. Whatever he decides, I wish him nothing but the best.

I hope it is. He's done enough for us and deserves his shot in the Pros. If you're leaving, Marcus, thanks for everything and good luck! Be rootin' for ya!

Good luck to him. He will succeed at the next level. I think he should go, the NFL has better strength and conditioning coaches, team doctors, and benefits. Plus if you look at it another way, him going to the NFL will help USC attract more high caliber running back recruits to the school. Because as you know, high school running backs all have a dream of going to the major league, and when they see we sent ML21 to the NFL on 3 years of football, 2 years cut short on season ending injuries, their eyes are gonna light up.
So good luck Marcus if you do leave. |

Doesn't he have to pass a physical to join an NFL team?

No. Although it will obviously affect his draft position.

Good for him, I wish him nothing but the best in the NFL and I will immediately become a fan of whatever team drafts him. He gave both of his knees to USC football and we really cannot ask anything more of him.
That being said, I hate it for him that the last time he left the field at Williams-Brice was on a cart. Kinda wish his last moment on the field had been after the UGAg game when he was celebrating in the student section.
