Tommy Bowden?

Why aren't we hearing his name about any coaching vacancies? I think he'd be an excellent hire for someplace like NC State or ARK.

I dont think he did a horrible job at clemson... bowl eligible every season he was there... clemson just has this thing that they think they are better than they really are.... a lot of teams in the country would love what tommy did at clemson... not a fan of the guy... im just a realist ..... he will coach again....

Tommy is done with football I think...He got his millions out of klempzun and he seems to enjoy his Fox SS gig...

I think Tommy would bomb in the SEC. He didn't even have that much success in the ACC, despite pulling in a lot of talent. He consistently underachieved. (In 10 seasons he never had a 10 win season, won an ACC title or even a share of a division title, and his highest ranked finish was #14) He had a very good record against South Carolina, but only had to go against Spurrier three times, losing once and eeking out two wins of 13-9 and 23-21. The way Spurrier has built the program from when he first took over, he would probably be owning Tommy's ass the same way he owns Dabo had Bowden not been let go. I'm not saying he's a bad coach, just a mediocre one. He didn't have a losing season, having them bowl eligible every season, so there is something to be said for that.

I can't see any big schools wanting him. I think he and Dabo are of the same mold. Really good GM's, but their teams are/were only as good as their coordinator's are/were. Bowden's probably had enough of coaching and I imagine he has plenty of coin left from the Clemson buyout.
