FSU would def. go to the Big 12.
If I was FSU, I'd grab Clemson, VT, Miami and Virginia and work as a package for the Big 12 to make an Eastern division with WVU.

The schools don't dictate the terms. The conference holds all the cards/ paychecks...

But they can contact conferences and say, hey, his is an idea.
Of course the conference has the final say...but I would think FSU would be on the horn.

None of those teams move the needle for tv markets. TV is what makes a conference interested in a team. Those teams would come in and it would cost the current member a portion of their share to have them. That won't fly. Conferences are looking for schools that reside in big tv markets (Maryland, Rutgers ect) or a team that has a nationwide audience (FSU is probably the only one left). Those other teams bring nothing to the table that would generate excess revenue proportional to what they are already receiving. Those teams would be better to split off and create their own conference.

I think FSU is gone at some point. Not sure they take clemson with them. almost any conference choosing two schools from that league would got for FSU and GT.

I believe FSU is as good as gone. Taterville Tech will never leave the Athletically Challenged Conference. Their Board Of Directors will never vote to leave with a $50 million exit fee.
