I went. Watched highlights a few min ago. People spaces out sparsely in the upper deck and the lower deck wasn't even half full.

we started out up in 551 with free tickets from the USO and went down to the GT side first row at the 15ish right after kickoff. A **** ton of USC fans there me, my gf, and buddy were doing the S-E-C chant and GAME-COCK chant the whole time we were there.

I can see why this was moved to the locker room because the ACC Championship Game certainly had nothing to do with football.

SB Nation has a good piece on it....pretty funny, looks like there are just as many people packed into the bar areas to watch the SEC Championship game on TV than the one they're attending in person!

I think his estimate was off by a bit. This is a pure guess on my part, but the stadium looked about half full, MAYBE a little better, so that would mean there were around 37,000 people there. Even if I'm right, that's beyond pathetic.

There is no defense for it but that is around what the Pac 12 game drew and that game was hosted by the winning school.

Wow. I didn't know that. It's the same situation to me then (maybe a little worse) and just as pathetic. I have my own opinion why there was so little interest in the ACC game, but it might come across as smack, so I don't want to go there. As a fan of an ACC school, what do you think the reason was?

It was not a very good match-up. I think UNC/FSU would have drawn in the 55-60k range. It was hard for the FSU and GT fans to pick their pride up after SEC beatdowns and drive 8 hours and 4 hours to watch a 10-2 team play a 6-6 team. The last few years when ranked Virginia Tech teams have played ranked Atlantic teams, the attendance was fine.
